20: Farm boy creates history in robotics platforms with Gary Kurek.

Immigrant Entrepreneurs

Immigrant Entrepreneur: Gary Kurek

Gary was raised on a bison ranch in Alberta, Canada. He was always a curious kid growing up and he found himself in the robotic industry when his teacher in school encouraged him to participate in the science fair at the age of 14.

Gary was self taught throughout his young adult life and actually never got a college degree. After his successes in the science fair where he invented a wheelchair device that can be used both like a walker and like a wheelchair device, he found himself in the heart of the startup industries, Silicon Valley.

He joined the Peter Thiel fellowship program at the age of 19 and received $100,000 for 2 years to create his company. Now his entrepreneurial ventures are focused on bringing manufacturing industries back to America.
