22. First but Not the Last with Sara Abou Rashed LatinEQUIS

    • Society & Culture

Sara is a Palestinian-American poet, speaker, and storyteller. She describes herself as Palestinian by blood, Syrian by memory, American by citizenship, eastern in upbringing, and western in residence. Sara refers to this medley of identities as "constantly mapping home." For this episode on LatinEQUIS, I asked Paula, one of the awesome interns of LatinEQUIS, to lead the interview with Sara who is her TA at Denison University. We talk about the similarities between the Arab and Latinx cultures, misconceptions, as well as the feeling of having many identities that this increasingly diverse generation has.
