I hope you can see that the story of Jonah is the story of God’s love and unmerited grace for the worst of sinners, and the tendency for self-righteous religious people with idolatrous nationalistic tendencies to miss the point of God’s grace. Find your place in the story and be honest about where you are — then respond with repentance and faith.
