Not Only Farmers
I thought it was time to start a podcast to learn more about the intersection of culture and farming in our modern world. I want to hear the stories of farmers and all the other folks that make agriculture work. Stories of growing up, stories of how they’ve made it this far, and stories of where they’re going. I think too often we paint a picture of what agriculture was and often forget that agriculture exists in our modern world of interconnectedness and rapidly evolving techniques and ideas.
Well done!!

Thank you so much for putting the time and energy into offering this valuable resource for farmers or would be farmers. As a full time organic farmer for the past 27 years, I can completely resonate with many of the points, brought up and find the discussions around economics, and how farming operates in such a different cultural sphere than the rest of capitalism, but is expected to adhere to the constraints of capitalism to be particularly valuable and prescient. I’ve trained many young people in some of the find points of organic farming on a small family farm scale and it’s so important to express that it is a distinct lifestyle choice above all and if that’s not your orientation that perhaps you should go get a day job because it would just be a path of repeated disappointment. However, if you were into the lifestyle, then farming on a small scale can reveal to you the jewel of beauty that lies at the interface in creating more life.
