#25 How To Change Your Worth

I am constantly amazed at the narratives I hear from women about themselves that are not their own. I’m this. I’m that. I’m too old. I’m not good enough. I’m not qualified enough. I don’t have enough education / credentials for that… Ahem. Said who? Yes. It starts with self-inquiry. That’s step one. You have to cut the fantasy out of your own story first. That, to me, is the highest form of self-care and self-love... it is super uncomfortable and awkward. It’s hard but it’s worthy work. What is it? ⚡️ Shadow Work ⚡️ Journaling ⚡️ Inquiry-Driven Coaching ⚡️ Trigger Point Work Trigger Point Work - taking active steps to question what you ‘know to be true’ in your own story. It starts with being honest with yourself about where / how you get triggered. That’s usually where you’re holding ideas / feelings that you’d be better served by dropping, hard. Once you’ve done all that awesome and awkward work… let it go, Elsa. Other people’s opinions of you are none of your business. They are nothing more than transparent projections of what that person desires anyway. Other than cases of clear abuse or prejudice, people typically don’t villainize others unless they envy them. So take it as a compliment, own those skinny jeans mama, and rock on. (References: Shadow Work, Jungian Somatics.) Likewise, watch out for getting lost in flattery. As Georgia O’keefe said, “compliments and criticisms go down the same drain.” You are neither good nor bad, you are wholly human and that, gorgeous, is enough. In fact it’s plenty. Takeaway - it doesn’t matter who you are in someone else’s story, it matters that you are the leading lady in yours. Have the best day lovely ladies. 💛 Get in touch for more hello@fallonpublishing.ca // @fallonpublishing.ca // fallonpublishing.ca   #somatichealing #somaticwritingcoach#letitgo #somaticcoach #shadowwork#journalingtoheal #writingcoach#indiepublisher #womenspublishing#womenspublisher #booksforwomen#coachingforwomen#movementismedicine#healingfromtrauma #traumatichealing#torontosomaticpilates#traumainformedhealing#writingthroughtrauma #burnoutcure#anxietyrelief #healingfromburnout

    #24 How To Do Boundaries

This week on the show that has no name with @meganswanwellness… B is for boundaries and boundaries are there to protect us all, especially ourselves from… ourselves. Boundaries also help us identify where previous overstepping has been taking place in the form of resistance (to these boundaries) by others. That’s step one. Two… triggers. notice how you react when parts of your story (or new boundaries) are challenged. What are you taking offence to? Can you create space between the thing that offends you and your reaction to it? Ask yourself, is it trigger, or is it truth? Can you change your perspective to think of triggers as emotional feedback for the parts of your story that need to be challenged, changed, or dropped. Let’s go further… Then, appreciation. Appreciate your triggers. They are there to show you where you need more love, compassion, patience, trust, and meditation. They are love notes in disguise. And finally, “cut the cord”, sage, buy some crystals, do your thing to let that shit go. As my five year old says, don’t hate, mediate. Other takeaways and snippets: Notice where stress responses pop up for you in your body You don’t have to play with your kids all the time, seriously Take cold showers or plunge into water when you’re stressed, it works You are not the project manager of everyone else’s life, focus on your beautiful self Resources: MIchaleen Doucleff, Hunt, Gather, Parent: What Ancient Cultures Can Teach Us about Raising Children (March 2021) www.meganswanwellness.com

#21 How To Do Cancer - A Love Story

When Rachel was 28 years old, her husband was diagnosed with leukemia. What they thought was the flu after working too many hours, turned out to be the life altering illness that would forever change everything they knew. Rachel became a cancer wife, manager, team cheerleader and expert juggler at life, while supporting her husband throughout his illness, until he died two days after she turned 31. She had to reboot her life and learn how to start over as a widow, without a map or guidebook to lead her.  Rachel's humor, moxie and faith helped get her through the cancer world, and survive the calamity of errors that kept-on coming after he died. She fought tooth and nail to survive and is thankful for everything that brought her to present day, despite how hard it was to get there. She wishes she had had this advice and a story to reference when she was in the jungles of her cancer life and widowhood. Her hope is to provide you with some laughter, comfort, solace and guidance on your own journey.
