300: How to Throw a Party Even a President Would Love, with White House Social Secretary and Author, Deesha Dyer

She's thrown parties for the Pope, Beyonce, and world leaders from dozens of countries, so who better to ask for good party tips than the former White House social secretary?!

This week I'm joined on the pod by Deesha Dyer, who worked with President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama on throwing ragers for some of the most important people on earth.

Not only do we talk about amazing party planning, but we also talk about how she went from a 31-year-old community college student to a staffer at the White House; the lessons she's learned about perseverance and staying true to yourself; the crazy party stories from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue; and of course her tips to throw a party that even a President would love.

Check out Deesha's new book, Undiplomatic: How My Attitude Created the Best Kind of Trouble, on Amazon here and on Bookshop here.

299: WGT Classics: Who Really Killed JFK? Dr. Cyril Wecht Has a Few Theories

Dr. Cyril Wecht, famed pathologist known for his work on cases including Casey Anthony; Scott Peterson; the Menendez brothers; Chandra Levy and most famously, his review of the Warren Commission report on the JFK assassination, has died at the age of 93.

In honor of a career that spanned decades and impacted thousands of people, I'm re-releasing my interview with him that I did after the release of his latest book, The JFK Assassination Dissected.

I had the opportunity to interview him multiple times over the course of my career, and was honored to reconnect with him after the release of this book.

If you're into "alternate theories" on what may have really happened with the JFK assassination, this episode is for you.

Relatable

I love Sonni’s WGT podcast and the variety of topics it covers from light and fun to deep topics…something new and relevant each episode. I love that she wants to hear from her listeners and has an open mind to hear all opinions and thoughts on a variety of issues. This is a podcast I recommend to all my friends in our 30s & 40s.

Great topics!!

Sonni is so down-to-earth and reliable and she covers such interesting and important topics. Not to mention she has a great sense of humor and is so self aware. Love her and her content!!!

Excellent journalism & fun

Not only is Sonni incredible at interviewing and getting to the heart of a topic, but she is fun to listen to. She is super sharp and level headed, and it’s evident she works hard to bring experts and interesting stories to her show.
