Best podcast—by far— for coverage on Tolkien and his works. I really appreciate all the deep dives into more complicated topics since I’ve only been reading and listening for several months. This podcast helped me not only understand Middle-Earth, but also feel as if I were in it. Great job so far! Ps. Even though you give ROP a lot of negative and, quite frankly, nasty feedback, ROP is part of the reason I started reading more of Tolkien’s stories. You express your gratitude for this about once a century, so I think you could be a little kinder towards people who are trying their best.

I came to the podcast less than a year ago so I’m playing catch-up, but I’m hooked. Love the knowledge, the jokes, the digressions, all of it. The guest interviews have taught me a lot and I look forward to learning more. I do wish Alan would let others talk without constantly interrupting, but I can live with it!

Passion and thoughtfulness shine through. Also occasionally funny. Really worth the time.
