    412: How to Overcome Overwhelm

As we enter this time of year, I find myself reflecting on clutter—both the physical clutter in my home and the mental clutter in my mind. I'm especially focused on those areas that feel disorganized and overwhelming. Can you relate?  Last week, I shared an insightful interview with Erica Layne, discussing mindset shifts that can help us declutter our homes in lasting ways. This week, I want to dive into the topic of decluttering our mental spaces. To guide us, I've decided to share a recording of a live online masterclass that I taught last year about overcoming overwhelm. While it’s longer than my usual 30-minute episodes, it does have three takeaways, and I hope you'll find it incredibly valuable.  In this episode, you’ll: - Learn about the difference between stress & overwhelm - Hear some strategies you can use if you’re in the midst of overwhelm - Receive some scripts you can use to opt out of commitments that are too much for you  Thanks for taking some extra time today, beyond our regular thirty minutes, to learn about overcoming overwhelm! If you are interested in dedicating yourself to a true transformation - going from constant unhealthy overwhelm to more productive stress mixed with a lot more joy and fun - sign up for my Declutter your Motherhood Audio course by the end of January for $50 off with the code NEWYEAR. I'd love to have you with us!  For full show notes, including the three takeaways, click here.  *** Announcement:  Sign up for my Declutter your Motherhood Audio course by the end of January to get $50 off - use code NEWYEAR.  Related Episodes:  411: Decluttering That Sticks: 3 Mindset Changes for Lasting Impact // Erica Layne 353: How to Declutter Your Busy Schedule // Miranda Anderson 337: One Brilliant (and Easy!) 411: Decluttering That Sticks: 3 Mindset Changes for Lasting Impact // Erica Layne

With the new year comes a new surge of energy for me to GET MY LIFE IN ORDER! My kids always laugh at me when I get these bursts of motivation because they never last. They roll their eyes and humor me as I declare plans to declutter our home and patiently wait for my resolve to fizzle. Is this cycle familiar to you too? Well, if so, you’re in for a treat. I truly believe that with some mindset shifts and a deeper commitment to our WHY for decluttering our homes, this can be the year that decluttering actually sticks.  My guest today, Erica Layne from The Life on Purpose Movement, believes this too. On this week’s episode, Erica will share: - The simple mindset shift that can make it easier to "get to work" when you're feeling overwhelmed by your messy house.  - What clutter does (and does NOT) say about you.  - The best way to approach decluttering with sentimental items. Are you ready to start the decluttering process and follow through this time? Let’s do this! Plus, if you’re looking to dive deeper into mental decluttering, my Declutter Your Motherhood Course is currently $50 off through the end of January.  For full show notes, including takeaways, click here.  *** Announcements:  - Sign up for my Declutter Your Motherhood Course and get $50 off through the end of January! 410: Align Your Goal-Setting with Your Menstrual Cycle // April Davis of Haus of Vagina

As we dive into the season of goal-setting and resolutions, I want to start with an episode focused on honoring and understanding our female bodies and how that relates to goal-setting. Because guess what? As women, we are physiologically unable to have the same level of energy and motivation every single day of the month due to our menstrual cycles, and that TRUTH should absolutely change the way that we set goals. We will not be exactly consistent with goals because our bodies are not exactly consistent, and that is okay! In this episode, April Davis of Haus of Vagina educates us on our menstrual cycles and how to align our goals with our cycles, including: 1. The four phases of the menstrual cycle. 2. What to expect from ourselves during each phase. 3. Strategies for aligning our goals and ambitions with our cycle. Tune into the episode to learn more!  I’ve also designed a FREE worksheet that recaps April’s awesome information. This is an incredible resource for you or any woman or girl in your life. I wish I had known this stuff decades ago!    For full show notes, as well as a summary of the takeaways, click here.  Take care of yourself, my friend, especially if you’re luteal! xo *** Announcements:  -Get my FREE worksheet to go along with this episode! -Please consider leaving a review for the podcast! Happy Monday, my friends! I am truly so grateful to be with you on this final Monday of 2024. 406: Navigating Holiday Melancholy // Dr. Tanmeet Sethi

It’s “the most wonderful time of the year,” but for some of us, it doesn’t necessarily feel like it. I know not everyone relates to this confusing angst during the holidays, but maybe you do. Maybe you put a smile on your face for the parties and events, but inside, you might feel as alone as the Grinch sitting in his cave on top of the hill because who feels down during the holidays? Is your heart just three sizes too small?  In today's episode, I'm joined by Dr. Tanmeet Sethi, who shares three tangible ways we can navigate these melancholy feelings during this time of year, including: 1. A simple exercise to soften your melancholy so it doesn’t overpower you.  2. A powerful way to boost your energy and feel more at peace.  3. The single best thing you can do to mother yourself during this season.  Listening to Dr. Sethi’s blend of compassion and research feels like a hug for my inner Eeyore! I hope you feel the same way!
