Two Packs: Trading Card Comedy presented by Meltdown Comics

Two Packs is the trading card comedy podcast! Join host Geoffrey Golden and a special guest as they crack open packs of bizarre, retro trading cards from The A-Team to Xena: Dangerous Liaisons. While they discover what’s inside, they discuss forgotten pop culture, geeky childhood memories, and a thoughtful exploration of the human condition through a post-post-modern lens. (Or, y'know, Garbage Pail Kids.)
Smart, quick and funny

Two Packs a Week is a hilarious show based on the bizarre premise of analyzing pop culture through opening vintage card packs; a strange idea that is ingenious in its execution. Geoffrey Golden is the talented host, with great guests who keep the conversation breezy and witty. Probably my favorite podcast to listen to on short car trips. I highly recommend this show for any nerd culture junkie looking for a few good laughs!

As a huge trading card fan I can't get enough of Geoff and his guests. They're knowledgable about the trading card space and also just really funny in their own right. Even if you aren't a huge trading card fan you'll love this show.
Great!

The Golden Ratio: Geoffrey + Podcast = Fun!

Geoffrey Golden always makes me feel like a kid again and now he has bottled that feeling into a podcast so I (and you) can tap into that feeling on demand. Great hosts don't feel the need to compete with their guests but also can fill dead air with something truly memorable and unplanned. When a guest would cancel on Letterman, he'd improvise some of the best off-the-top-of-his head schtick that I almost wished guests would cancel more often. Geoffrey knows how to fill the void in the same way. When his guest starts scratching away at a rub-off-card Geoffrey has a choice, he could let the audience listen to the scratching for 45 seconds or he could edit out the scratching entirely, but instead his instincts take over and he begins to improvise a rap song to the rhythm of the scratching. Geoffrey transforms what could easily have become dead-air into an amazing bit that had me giggling and crossing my fingers for more improvised scratch/rap segments. This inspired moment also underlines who Geoffrey really is. He's not trying to impress his guest, or his audience, he's just having fun and it's contagious. Delightful moments like this are fun and frequent in each episode of "Two Packs A Week". Another example is how Geoffrey and a guest deconstruct the fact that Vanilla Ice is the Elvis of the 90s but ultimately conclude he actually wasn't the king anything, including Turtles raps. Even Geoffrey's fast-spoken disclaimer at the top of each episode puts a big smile on my face. You don't have to know anything about retro trading cards to love this podcast just like you don't have to know anything about beer to enjoy "Cheers". Geoffrey's voice is not unlike like the sweet candy or bubblegum you may find paired with the trading cards he discusses on his show. Like all great broadcasters, Geoffrey is brilliant enough to pull this podcast off all by himself (I'd listen to him talk about anything) but instead he rightfully shares the mic with grace, inviting some incredible guests to join in the fun. Geoffrey's choice of guests is about as strong as his ability to stay out of their way. When he lets them shine, so does he.

As a big trading cards fan, Geoffrey Golden’s podcast is a brilliant idea. Opening packs with his funny guests and hearing their reactions in real time is something that reminds me of my friends and I when we would do the same. He has a real appreciation for these ridiculous vintage cards and it’s a real joy to listen to him open them every week.
