After enlisting under the 'Ready Reserve' Scheme as a recovery mechanic in 1996, his career took him on several postings around Australia finally deploying to East Timor in 2011. We touch on Brett almost being medically discharged and fighting to stary in service and how his career nearly cost him his family.
