To suddenly stop caring about what other people think of you means going against years of evolutionary training and decades of social upbringing. We give so much energy to the people around us and we obsess over what we THINK they THINK about us.
Unfortunately, it's a part of our human condition. We're wired this way because we're working from an ancient brain. Thousands of years ago, we needed our tribe to approve of us for survival. If a failed hunt fell on our shoulders, it could lead to being kicked out of the tribe. If something went wrong that caused us to lose our community, it would be nearly impossible to live on our own.
Because of this outdated system, our brain still seeks approval from those around us even though we're living in an age where we don't necessarily need external validation to survive. So, how do we stop caring about what others think of us? How do we let go of others' judgmental opinions? How do we eliminate the fear and shame and embarrassment?
Tune into this week'd episode to hear how!
Remember, I love you and I'm on this journey with you.
