#75: Aaron Hale and the Daytona 100

Florida Trail Runners Podcast

This year Aaron Hale took on the Daytona 100 from Jacksonville Beach to Daytona Beach! He ran the majority of the miles with his guide Ty Aronson and had one heck of a crew. You see, Aaron cannot see. He is 100% blind, and he is deaf. He completed the Daytona 100 with a time of 30:41:01.

Aaron is a 14-year veteran, military chef, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (E.O.D) team leader. He has overcome all odds from the moment a blast robbed him of his vision in Afghanistan, to years later when he lost his hearing, he refused to accept defeat.

So now that he's hitting the roads and knocking out 100 milers, he's also in the kitchen! One thing I also have to mention is EOD Fudge, you've got to check it out. All of the fudge is made by Aaron without preservatives and are hand wrapped and packaged!
