Freakonomics, M.D.
Each week, physician, economist, and author of "Random Acts of Medicine" Dr. Bapu Jena will dig into a fascinating study at the intersection of economics and healthcare. He takes on questions like: Why do kids with summer birthdays get the flu more often? Can surviving a hurricane help you live longer? What do heart surgery and grocery-store pricing have in common?

I enjoy a majority of these topics being in the medical field myself.
Get Out of the Ivory Tower

Full disclosure - I make my living doing the same sort of analysis the author does in his podcasts, and have a strong belief in the ability of statistics to identify trends in data otherwise invisible. However, I think the value of this podcast is minimal to me. The elephant in the room is the trillion dollar question of why the cost of healthcare in the US is double that of other nations with equivalent quality. What we need is the author to apply his very impressive specialized skill set to this problem, and take action to realize a solution. This is our true public health crisis, not the issues that he brings up. I think he misses the forest for the trees.
Outstanding

Please bring back this podcast. It adds so much value and need perspective to the healthcare industry.
