Her passion for teaching history’s truths and connecting the past to today’s racial and social justice issues is evident in the work she does.  One of her favorite James Baldwin quotes is, "I am what time, circumstance, history have made of me, certainly, but I am, also, much more than that. So are we all." These words continue to be a reminder and a guide for her as she carries out what she knows is part of her divinely driven purpose.
