Voxology
Voxology (Formerly the Vox Podcast with Mike Erre) is a collection of voices that question and discuss our culture's most relevant topics in relation to Christ and Christianity. We talk LGBTQ, American and church politics, Christian culture's catastrophic marginalization of the very people Jesus implores us to love and so much more. If you have serious questions about the church’s representation of Jesus, what he has done and the beauty of his work on earth today, join hosts Mike Erre and Tim Stafford and their guests to talk things out and find your way back to the true mission of Jesus.

All of you are and have been a light upon a hill for years. Thank you for keeping me sane and for helping me hold on to a mustard seed of faith when I daily want to throw it all away. Especially now. Especially today. I am endlessly grateful. Peace and Love DT

Erre, you’re on the right track. Ekklesia and synagogue both mean the congregation or the people who are the called out ones. Politics is a Hellenistic term referring to governance of civil affairs of cities. Religion is a reconnection of a severed relationship (think torn ligaments). Your description of kingdom, particularly in these times, may wrongly be interpreted as supporting Christian Nationalists. The Decalogue is the only portion of the Torah that was distinctly given to Moses. The rest are human constructs in an attempt to control behaviors that the judges considered as violating the Decalogue. The Decalogue were edicts pointing to various actions that broke relationships between people or with God. Sin was not the behaviors, it was the breaking of relationships—the consequences of those behaviors. The blood sacrifices used in Temple worship was a carryover from prior religions in a superficial attempt to appease the gods who would punish the people for breaking the rules. Temple worship using the blood of animals was a higher state of development over using the blood of enemies or of tribal members. The tearing of the veil that separated the people from the Holy of Holies marked the end of blood sacrifices yet the followers of the Way incorporated the blood cult as a part of their religious rituals that continues to this day in the sacrament of Holy Communion.

I love this podcast and all of the important issues they talk about. HOWEVER, I really wish Mike & Tim would give each episode a unique name rather than the same title with endless parts. It makes me feel like I can’t jump in and listen unless I go back 6 months and get in on every single episode leading up to the most recent one. And that sounds overwhelming, so why even try? Guys, for the love of new beginnings, just get a little creative sprinkle to title names and help us all to feel like it’s safe to climb aboard the Voxology johnboat anytime we please.🪄 🛶 🪄 🙏🏼
Thank you
