What's Left of Philosophy

Very engaging even if you have not read the books being talked about. Even if you only have some sympathy with the left, cut by a lot of skepticism.

I love Adorno’s hate and really respect. I’ve not heard a single academic my age or younger who aren’t annoyed by this high minded curmudgeon because they know he’d look askance at anything we do, but it’s just this judgmentalism I love. I don’t agree always with his assessments but it’s for that very reason we especially, in our era, need JUST this kind of naysaying.

You don’t have to be a leftest or Marxist to get a lot out of this podcast. These are some of the smartest, close-reading young scholars I’ve ever heard. I disagree with them fairly often and precisely for that reason I find this a valuable listen. If I had these kinds of peers when I was in my twenties and thirties, I would have stayed in academia. They make it enlightening (even for an anti-enlightenment thinker) and fun. Follow and support!
