‘A Dingo’s Got My Baby!’: Azaria Chamberlain’s Disappearance and Death

Lucid Lab Podcast

On a cold August night in 1980, at the base of Uluru, a tragedy would unfold that would captivate the entire nation of Australia and challenge everything they thought they knew about justice, media, and the wild. Nine-week-old Azaria Chamberlain vanished from her family's tent, and her mother Lindy's cry would echo through decades of legal battles: 'A dingo's got my baby!'

What followed was not just a missing child investigation, but a media circus that would put an entire family on trial - not only for what happened but for how they responded to unimaginable grief. A case where scientific 'evidence' would later be proven spectacularly wrong, where a mother would be convicted of murdering her own child, and where a nation would ultimately be forced to confront its own prejudices.

This is the story of the Chamberlain family - a tale of resilience, wrongful conviction, and a 32-year fight to prove that sometimes, the most unbelievable explanation might just be the truth.
