How the Paranormal Influenced the Perspectives of Carl Jung with Karen Herrick

How the Paranormal Influenced the Perspectives of Carl Jung with Karen Herrick

    Pre-recorded

While many people have heard of Carl Jung, Williams James, and Abraham Maslow, what isn't widely know is their belief in the spirit world.

After having a profound spiritual experience during a Holotropic Breathwork training, today's special guest Karen Herrick became extremely interested in the connection between the body and the spirit, and how we can use this information to help people heal.

While attending Union Institute & University in Cincinnati, Ohio, for her Masters degree, Karen did extensive research into spiritual psychology, spiritual phenomena, and titled her heavily researched thesis "Naming Spiritual Experiences".  During her research Karen discovered how William James, Carl Jung, and Abraham Maslow, were deeply connected to the spirit world.

Rev. Karen E. Herrick, PhD, LCSW, LMSW, CADC, ACMHP, completed her PhD at Union Institute and University in Philosophy, and Masters degree at Rutgers University in Social Work. She is the Director for the Center for Children of Alcoholics in Red Bank, New Jersey, and has shared her clinical expertise for over thirty years in private practice and by lecturing on dysfunctional, addictive homes, dissociation, and grief and loss from a Jungian perspective.  She is now researching the potential benefits of mediumship knowing that grief is primarily resolved when the bereaved can recognize their continuing spiritual bonds with the deceased. Dr. Herrick's decades of research consists of paranormal experiences that have been widely reported and appear to be fairly common. These phenomena have been the subject of psychical research for well over a century, and their existence is reasonably established.

Divorcing a Narcissist is ALWAYS High Conflict with Divorce Coach Susan Shofer

Divorcing a Narcissist is ALWAYS High Conflict with Divorce Coach Susan Shofer

A relationship with a narcissist is a recipe for a difficult marriage. When these unions are followed by divorces, and they usually are, those divorces are considered “high conflict”. Narcissists, entitled, exploitative, arrogant, and lacking empathy become highly aggressive during this process. They are deceitful, unreasonably argumentative and revengeful.

Most parents try to shield their children from unnecessary exposure to the divorce and try to keep them out of the conflict. This is not the mindset of a narcissist. Narcissists feel as if they must win every conflict.  Destroying the other spouse and their children in the process is a desired outcome. Children are considered pawns in their game. Determined to be as cruel as possible, as only narcissists can, children are weaponized and used against the innocent, loving parent.

How do you navigate a nightmarish process such as this? Should you stay married to your abuser to avoid the rough road ahead. The answer is NO. You must leave but there are ways to do this and come out on the winning end. Today's special guest Susan Shofer is going to tell you how..

Susan is a dear friend of mine, a colleague, and an outstanding divorce coach. She is renowned world-wide for the powerful Ted Talk she gave on Parental Alienation.

As a divorce and custody ally, she helps women and men navigate the troubled waters of a family breakup by sharing her own organized and pragmatic approach to the divorce process. Susan successfully crossed her own highly contentious divorce and post-divorce battle and was triumphant in her fight against Parental Alienation.

Susan is the author of The Divorce Recovery Ladder and a forthcoming book about parental alienation. She is a former private investigator, and has an MBA from Johns Hopkins University and BA from the Univ of Maryland.

Are Your Favorite Health Foods Making You Sick with Nutritionist Sally Norton

Are Your Favorite Health Foods Making You Sick with Nutritionist Sally Norton

Today's special guest, Sally K. Norton, should have been the picture of health. She exercised regularly; did yoga; and ate a well-researched diet chock full of wholesome, nutritious foods. She even had an ivy league degree in nutrition. But her health was far from fabulous. She suffered from several physical and cognitive impairments including chronic fatigue, severe joint pain, and kidney problems. Doctors couldn't figure out why someone so young and “healthy” could be so unwell.

Sally never imagined that her health problems could be related to her beloved health foods. After her career in health research and medical education ended due to her worsening condition, Sally finally connected the dots and recovered her health by lowering her oxalate intake.

Sally’s story is not unique. “Oxalate Overload” is a condition whose prevalence has skyrocketed in the era of green smoothies, chia bowls, and nut-based plant beverages. Her forthcoming book Toxic Superfoods examines common dietary mistakes, why we’re overlooking the oxalate problem, and what you can do about it.

Sally K. Norton, MPH holds a nutrition degree from Cornell University and a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Her path to becoming a leading expert on dietary oxalate includes a prior career working at major medical schools in medical education and public health research.

Rude caller

I’m so sorry for that caller that interrupted your show. He’s obviously never been abused by a narcissist-my guess is that he is the narcissistic abuser. Yuck. Glad you blocked his number. You have helped me so much and I will continue to listen! Continue to help people-you understand!

Priceless info for people dealing w a narcissist

Randi,
Where were you & your podcast when I needed you 15 years ago when I was divorcing my narcissistic husband who’s father owned a law firm. Fortunately I was able to go through a family evaluation which revealed he was Bipolar with psychotic tendencies, boarder-line narcissistic personality disorder with delusions of grandeur. However without that diagnosis he would have been granted a lot more parenting time. In the end he only wanted the kids because he knew they were my Achilles heal. As the kids got older & he didn’t always get his way with the kids or the judge he eventually just stopped seeing them all together. There’s been little more than text contact over the last 8 years.
Your informative and most importantly your exceptional wisdom & podcast no doubt provides a lifeline for many.
NPD within the court system even with breaking into the family home, withholding all money of any and all kind, stocking and manipulation of children of any age is exceptionally hard & nearly impossible to actually prove in court. Your input is without a doubt a life saver for so many people dealing with spouses or partners with NPD.
Your podcast gives a very accurate portrayal of what it’s like to divorce this type of person and the best way to be prepared to do so. You also share why or how we choose NPD in a partner. I appreciate your insight, shared experiences growing up w a mother w NOD.
Hard and eye opening pill to swallow realizing one’s mother has never ever loved you after 47 long years of hopeless contorting in order to be or feel loved vs used by one’s mother.
