A Single Quest

Zach Phillips and Matt Demetrides are truly an amazing pair of hosts. I have never listened to a podcast wherein an interviewer asks the MC’s father to pay to hear the MC’s apology to them. Why an apology you might ask? Because Toby Flutterheart states that being a slinky for four years was a greater learning experience than being raised by their own father. If that won’t get you to listen, I don’t know what will. I’m still catching up, but with bit sized episodes, you can catchup with little effort. Can’t recommend listening enough.

Season 2! I’m so excited for the episode-to-episode gimmicks this time around. If you love food puns, NPCs with weirdly specific backstories, knock-off game shows OR dungeons and/or dragons, this is the show for you. Keep up the great work guys!

Listen, I’ve been listening to this podcast since it started and it is funny and all but I just realized something: these guys obviously have no idea what they are doing. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have never actually played dnd before. Do they tell an entertaining story? Yes. Is it funny? Absolutely. Will I continue to listen to this podcast forever? Probably, and I would recommend you do the same

I was performing my weekly ritual of reviewing nose hair trimmers on Amazon when I accidentally came across this curious quest-based podcast. Now I don’t know what a “dungeon” or a “dragon” is, but presenters Zach and Matt spin a delightful narrative using their toy box of charismatic characters and food-based locales. I try and apply this podcast hourly as a proxy for genuine human contact. It’s not an exact equivalent but, like the Burger King Impossible Burger™, it is a pretty dang good substitute. 10/10 needs moar torches.
