Among other examples, take this assertion promoted by the podcast, one that exposes the Eurocentrism and other harmful beliefs/stereotypes of the hosts, producers, and some of the guests: “… “[Antisemitism] is not a special manifestation that is disconnected from other systems of oppression that come out of a Christian European imperial worldview and politic of conquering and claiming the world,”(From the Jul 28, 2024 episode). This assertion completely ignores the reality of non-Christian anti-Jewish hate and, in so doing, denies and erases the lived experiences of many millions of Mizrahi and some Sephardic Jewish people and communities both BCE and since birth of Islam and, particularly, since the rise of Arab-Islamic imperialism, expansionism, and actual or attempted colonization and ensettlement of lands and peoples, including but not limited to much or all of North Africa, parts of the eastern Mediterranean and so-called Fertile Crescent, and parts of Persia and lands East and South thereof. It is as if the guest and hosts never have heard of the Mellahs of Arab Caliphates and nation-states, of the tangible and intangible hardships, humiliations, and dehumanizations and too often deadliness of dhimmi status for Jewish persons and entire communities and regions colonized and settled by Arab Muslims. BOTH Christian-based and non-Christian-based anti-Jewish hate exist, are employed by authoritarian, totalitarian, and fascist governments and groups, and are counter to goal and sustainability of classical liberalism or free, peaceful, just, and humane coexistence. The willful omission of those truths erode the credibility and integrity of this podcast and its alleged intent. Hence, only a 3 star rating.
