Dark House

At the crossroads of true crime, interior design, and the paranormal, Dark House explores beautiful homes that can’t seem to escape their dark histories. Hosts and House Beautiful editors Hadley Mendelsohn and Alyssa Fiorentino dig into the twisted backstories of four infamous homes, and uncover the strange stories suggesting some inhabitants never left—and that perhaps history isn't the only thing haunting them. Featuring guest interviews with authors, set designers, psychic mediums, and paranormal investigators, Dark House uncovers why these residences, and the stories they tell us, are so important.

Would love to see this show return. This is such a great podcast. Love hearing about the homes and then what happens in the homes. The hosts tell a great story from a fresh perspective.Thank you, this is so good! Please come back.
Unique, wonderful-please bring DH back!

Hadley and Alyssa put together a fun yet thoughtful, respectful and truly unique podcast! I really miss DH and still listen to old episodes, despite it’s cancellation, because it’s too good to give up. No other podcast replicates the same mix of easy charm, professionalism, and unique vibe that DH has. Still crossing my fingers a production company will bring DH back ❤️
Great research

This was the first podcast that really kept my attention. It’s very well researched and the conversational tone is engaging. The hosts could just dial down the vocal fry and virtue signaling a bit. But if the show was brought back, I would be the first to start binging!
Interesting stories except for the political and personal opinions by the hosts

I’m not sure how I stumbled upon this podcast so I decided to listen. Many of the stories about homes and properties with troubling histories and/or unexplained instances taking place in them are pretty interesting. I also appreciate the fact that they’re interior design/decorators because their knowledge helped me be able to visualize these places. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the hosts inevitably inject their politics, and virtue-signaling while narrating. 😕 For better or for worse, our country’s (or states) history happened, regardless of how wonderful or terrible it may be in retrospect. Judging those who lived 100+ or so years ago by one’s 2024 standards and knowledge is immature, ignorant and annoying. We are unable to change that however we can hopefully learn from it now and not repeat it. The virtue signaling is cloying and detracts from the stories being told. I’ve now listened to almost all of the episodes and can say that I’ve learned quite a bit about other places so I sincerely appreciate that. It appears that this podcast want not canceled but was instead intentionally done as a limited episode podcast. I’d still listen to it if it were to somehow come back. p.s. Regarding the episode “Victoria’s Black Swan Inn” in San Antonio, Texas, please note the correct pronunciation(s). 😊 Bexar County is “Bear” or “Bare” not “Bex-ahr or Bex-er. Salado is “Sah-lay-doe” not “Sah-lah-doe.”
