Substantial, interesting perspective

Gives a more scholarly perspective to its subject matter than other podcasts. So interesting! Hope the background sound issues can be resolved, though.

Approachable History, Maintains Nuance

This podcast does a great job of making top-tier historical research approachable without sacrificing the quality of discussion or reducing complex concepts to oversimplified ideas. The host is an excellent (and lighthearted) interviewer, and I learn something every time I listen. Highly recommend.

Engaging / Eye-opening

History, as a discipline, cuts through the speculation and myth and hyperbole in an effort to truly understand what happened in the past; Agnus, similarly, exposes that which is unclear and makes the discipline of history (specifically the late antique, medieveal, and byzantine subcatergories) accessible to a larger audience.

I love this insider's look at how the discipline of history operates in the real world.
