This week we sit down with Andre Davis, from Hoover, AL. Andre is here this week to talk about backcountry fishing, something that may not be familiar to a lot of our listeners. He emphasizes the joy of exploration and connecting with nature, even when the fishing may not be ideal, as the experience and scenery often make up for it. Andre also talks about hiking in with minimalist fishing gear, and offers a few tips on hammock camping. He also offers advice on how to find public lands for camping and fishing and discusses the importance of planning ahead and staying safe.

Next, we hear from Steve Graziano (Graz’s Guide Service) about Lake Eufaula. Graz reports that the recent cool weather has lowered water temperatures, which has triggered a stronger bite. While the lake levels remain relatively high due to dam work at West Point, the fall transition is beginning, and the topwater bite is heating up. Graz mentions how bass are following baitfish into creeks, with frogs, and walking baits like the Vixen proving effective. He also discusses alternative baits like drop shots, Texas rigs, and tail spinners for targeting both bass and white bass hybrids during this transitional period.
