Part 2 Inspiration & Instruction
This is part 2 of the first two episodes for 2021 in which I want to start the year off with some inspiration and instruction for my listeners as many of you get ready to embark on the next application cycle. Dr. Kolberg has advised thousands of students and the advising team at Notre Dame have a robust program to prepare and support their students through the premed process. I heard from some of my listeners that they don’t have an advisor so I wanted to bring some of her knowledge and tips directly to you.

Part 1 Inspiration & Instruction
As medical schools begin to wind down the 2020-2021 interview season and application, we know that the next cycle is right around the corner. As these are the first two episodes of 2021, I wanted to begin the year with a two part series that is dedicated to inspiration and instruction for the next group of applicants that are preparing to apply this spring.
The conversation you’re going to hear today is about inspiration and a little bit of advice about virtual interviewing. My guest is Dr. Michael Anderson who has had a very interesting career - from high stakes care in the pediatric critical care unit to leading a large children’s hospital to advising leaders of our government. Dr. Anderson and I want to bring this conversation to pre-medical students so you can understand all the different career possibilities that medicine can bring you such as Clinician, Educator, Researcher, Advocate, Health System leader, among others.

Amazing!
Love your podcast!!
GOAT
Christian Essman is the GOAT (as well as Dr. Mehta, Tom McKenzie, and the rest of the admissions team). This podcast was new when I was applying to medical school, and I loved watching them. There is so much helpful info in each episode!

Such a great resource for pre-med students
I am actively applying to medical schools and always listen to episodes diving into the details of what the schools want before starting my secondary applications. Not only does this help me to identify what I should highlight about myself and my experiences but I also learn so much about what the schools value and what their program is like, helping me understand if the school is right for me. All students applying should use this resource as they are determining where they want to apply to and how to best present what qualities they offer to the program.
