Binxuan Jiao ,

Just finished every All Ears English episode!!!

Hi Lindsay, Michelle, Jessica, Aubrey! So excited to share with you that I just finished all episodes of AEE today!

I initially found your amazing podcast at the start of the pandemic and listened to dozens of your episodes daily while I was doing experiments alone in the lab in the midnights (our lab set a schedule to avoid social contact). Sadly I broke my phone at the end of 2020 and lost all podcast records. I picked up AEE again at the beginning of 2022 and have stuck to 3 episodes a day since then. I re-listened to all the episodes I had listened to and gradually went back in time. Your voices accompanied me in my alone time for so long that I feel you 4 are like my close friends. It’s such a weird thing since we never met.

I took your connected communicator course last year and learned so much about the US, where I’m planning to immigrate. Thank you for bringing so many wonderful things to the English learning community. I also want to share with you that I scored 30 on TOEFL Listening last month with zero preparation and I think I owe all that to you four, my amazing remote teachers/friends! I’m now listening to Business English (and the upcoming new AEE of course). Hope I can listen to you forever. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

(PS. Did you remake the first 200 or so episodes? As I went back in time, I was a little excited to hear how Lindsay sounded more than 10 years ago, only to find the very old ones had been remade. But it was a pleasant surprise to hear Aubrey’s voice after so long!)

Who is McGee?

Hey Lindsay and Michelle,

Hi, it's Shiva from Iran, a 30-year-old fan of yours! I listen to your podcasts every day, and it's like therapy for me. Not only am I learning American English in a fun way, but I also forget about all my problems when I sink into your voices.

I've got a question for you guys. I was watching "How I Met Your Mother," and I noticed they use the word McGee a lot, like reading McGee, truths McGee... Who is McGee? How can I use this name in my conversations, and is it really natural? I've only heard it in this specific sitcom, not anywhere else. I need it to sound authentic for Americans.. Thanks a bunch. Keep shining ✨

Question!!!

Hello!!

I'm Shiori(she/her), originally from Japan, but I currently live in NY. I've been listening to your podcast before I moved to NY, and it's super helpful to improve my English skills! I recommend this podcast to all my Japanese friends around me, and everyone loves it!

I have a question about using the idiom “in a way.” I've heard of it many times within your conversation, for example, from the episode 2052, “This is kind of like very in fashion IN A WAY because of this moment we’re living in the world.” I looked up several dictionaries, but I just can't seem to get the nuances of the words. Could you please explain how and when you put this idiom in your sentences naturally?

Thank you in advance!! Love you!!
