#53 - Does the John Byrne MAN OF STEEL miniseries hold up?

"It was Krypton that made me Superman, but it's the Earth that makes me human."Alan and Rob take a look back on John Byrne's seminal 1986 MAN OF STEEL miniseries, the book that changed Superman forever. How does its fast-paced storytelling hold up? How did Byrne's decisions have ramifications for the ensuing decades of Superman (and DC) storytelling? Was there and overemphasis on Clark's Earth upbringing or did it provide a necessary grounding for the character? All these questions and more are answered PLUS we read some very divisive fan letters and tweets on the subject!

The Best Superman Podcast!!

I can’t speak enough to how nice & enjoyable it is to listen to Alan and Rob talk about all things Superman with genuine sincerity and love. Never a moment of trolling or ridicule, this podcast serves as a true testament to Superman by sharing their love and admiration for the character and its properties. Even finding legitimate joy, fun, and humor in movie mishaps like 1997’s Steel, this podcast is like hanging out with your mates to share in the positivity of a character you all love. Great job gents!! Keep up the awesome work.

Fantastic Superman Podcast!

Fantastic duo focusing on all things Superman related. Loved the interview with Gerard Christopher about his time as Superboy.

They cover is all!

I absolutely love how this podcast doesn’t miss a moment! They cover everything that is Superman (or one of Sup’s buddies)! I particularly love the Lois and Clark coverage. So many ignore this gem of a show! I’m excited every time I see buzz words likes Teri or Dean or “the new adventures…”

Thank you for being a terrific way to enjoy my commute!!
