About This Episode:

Defining herself as a Brave Overcomer Living Daringly (BOLD), Amelia O’Relly draws parallels between her own cancer journey and the struggles we each face, from even the smallest day-to-day setbacks, and how we can not only overcome them but turn them into something good. After an unexpected Stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis, Amelia ended up trying eight different treatments just to find one that worked and had to leave her long term career in HR because of the physical pain. During her experience, she identified a gap of information available between diagnosis and survivorship and a lack of easily accessible, credible resources. This led her to develop and launch how to Breast cancer, an online portal of centralized information to help anyone navigating a breast cancer journey, either as a patient, caregiver or loved one, through tools, practices, articles and other vetted resources to provide self-paced support. She took a negative and redirected it into something that helps others. Throughout the podcast, Amelia also emphasizes the importance of support and gratitude and how to focus on the big picture during a hardship. Tune in to hear an inspiring story of strength, resilience and giving back.
