Dr. Gerald Perman is a board-certified psychiatrist based in Beverly Hills, CA. He holds positions as a Clinical Professor in Psychiatry at George Washington University Medical Center and Creighton University Medical School. Dr. Perman has served as President of the American Academy of Psychodynamic Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis. He edits the online magazine Capital Psychiatry available at www.dcpsych.org and has expertise in Jacques Lacan, with articles searchable under "Perman and Lacan." Dr. Adhikari is an expert in the fields of Chemistry and Neuroscience. He is currently an associate professor here at UCLA, and has been a part of UCLA’s Psychology Department since 2017. Along with his role as an educator, Dr. Adhikari also runs a lab that investigates how the brain manages various changes that are linked to emotional behaviors, specifically the emotions of fear and anxiety. These changes involve complex and dynamic adaptations in the hormonal, physiological and behavioral realms. Through his work Dr. Adhikari aims to make sense of how interactions between different brain structures control these processes, seeking insights that shed light on the neural basis of pathological anxiety disorders and adaptive aversion to danger.

Dr. Sapolsky is a professor of Biology, Neurology, and Neurosurgery at Stanford. His research mainly focuses on thing like neuron death, the effects of stress on the brain, and gene therapy. Dr. Sapolsky has also done important work as a neuroscientist and a primatologist, spending a great deal of time with baboons in the Kenyan countryside. Lately however, Dr. Sapolsky Has taken the internet by storm with his strict stance that humans have no free will, a topic that is sure to start a debate whenever it is brought up. Dr. Sapolsky’s most recent book is titled “Determined: A Science of Life without Free Will” In the book, Dr. Sapolsky goes one by one, tackling all the major arguments for free will and taking them out.

Dr. Caroline Dodds Pennock is a historian, and an author who holds a PhD in Aztec history. she holds the title of “the only British Aztec historian.” on this episode of the podcast we had the opportunity to learn a lot about the Aztec empire, including its origin. Dr. Pennock also spoke about various aspects of Aztec(Mexica) culture. the episode ends with Dr. Pennock giving us some insight into the lesser discussed history of what the Indigenous Americans experienced when they were taken to Europe against their will, for the most part.

Dr. Camilla Townsend is a professor of history @ Rutgers who specializes in indigenous cultures all across Latin America. In her college years Dr. Townsend took a course on the Nahuatl language that sparked her curiosity in the culture, this curiosity led her to travel down to Latin America so that she could get a feeling of the culture first hand.
