Good effort spoiled by a non-stop tirade
Sadly, the story which was pretty good, was ruined through the mud, and back, and forth, and back,,,,
Nobody really cares about the authors anti science beliefs. But hey, if thats whats important to him, good luck.
Good storyline, but gets easily sidetracked
I can agree somewhat with the first reviewer. The overall story line and writing style appealed to me and I did like the story. However the authors desire to correlate belief in climate change with some of the characters flawed beliefs in the Old ones was a rather base attempt to push his views on climate change upon the listener. I’ve read much of the science from both sides of the argument. I just don’t want it shoved down my throat with my entertainment. As for the reading It could’ve been better with a mixture of people with more voice talent but the authors budget could’ve been as much a factor as possible hubris.
Pretty good
I thought this was cool. Interesting story and I enjoyed it. The narrator is obviously Canadian so you get some aGAINs and some aBOOTs and other funny words but I didn’t think it took away from it. The story was good and I have to respect the author for putting it out there. Definitely draws on some Lovecraft source material, obviously, but I think he ties it in nicely. If you liked the original story you have nothing to lose by giving this a listen.
