Episode 291 Ian Thomas: “A Lifelong Love of ATVs: Enthusiasts and Beyond”

Ian Thomas grew up in the northeastern United States where ATVs were essential tools for hunting and property maintenance.
As a youth, Ian and his cousins would sneak away to ride the 4x4 utility quads, joyously navigating them through mud repeatedly.
College and a serendipitous connection through football introduced Ian to sport ATVs. A teammate's father owned sport quads, and discovering a magazine featuring a 400EX solidified his interest.
After college, Ian joined the military and was stationed in the South, where he encountered the LTR 450. This experience deepened his passion for ATVs, making it a lifelong pursuit.
Ian's family later moved to the West, where the desert offered a new playground for racing. He got involved in WORCS and BITD, exploring these as new avenues to support fellow warriors.

Episode 290 Jason Blunt: “ The TRX 450R Build: Crafting a Dream Machine”

A casual discussion about shock setups on a 700 Raptor evolves into a captivating story about building a new machine tailored for Jason's son.
While the 700 Raptor was enjoyable on trails, it didn’t meet Jason’s expectations for cross-country (XC) style trails or country trails featuring motocross-style jumps.
Jason Blunt and I explored many different options. Our conversation took a turn when he inquired about my quad, asking about what I rode or owned.
The build process began months earlier, with the frame being powder-coated and reinforced with frame gussets. Many innovative ideas were implemented during this phase.
Mr. Blunt was decisive, saying, "I want this machine." We hadn’t even discussed the real price or colors when he specified his preference for an MX off-road style machine.
The build story is a dream come true for the Blunt family. Please join us in celebrating this achievement and thank you for your continued support.
