TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome back to another episode of the Daily Radio Bible with your host, Hunter, as we continue our journey through the Bible. Today marks day 73, where we'll be exploring the scriptures from Deuteronomy chapters 22 through 24, and diving into Galatians chapter four. Prepare to spend a quality twenty-five minutes immersing yourself in the scriptures and prayer, focusing on the life-transforming power of God's love. Hunter guides us with warmth and insight, reminding us of the freedom and grace found in Christ. So, gather with brothers and sisters from around the world, as we embrace the transformative love of God, direct our hearts toward Jesus, and nurture a spirit of peace and understanding. Let's dive in—because this time spent is not only good for the soul, but a wonderful way to start your day. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Set free. Many of us have not been free, and many of us have been sentimental legalists. You know, we flatter ourselves and think that we are better and more righteous than we really are. And that's why Paul says in verse 21, tell me, you who want to live under the law, do you know what the law actually says? And the answer to that question would be no. The demands of the law are impossible. It's downright hard to read sometimes. Breaking the law warrants death. And if you want to get sobered up to the demands of the law and the judgment due us because of it, you don't have to go much further than our reading in Deuteronomy today. So let's do our best to ditch that sentimental, self-righteous fantasy that we are somehow able to pull this thing off because we're not. Holiness is so far out of reach of my flesh that I'd sooner turn into a unicorn than a saint if it were up to my effort to be holy. But thanks be to God, the right standing that I couldn't achieve has been achieved and purchased for me by the one and only man, Christ Jesus himself. He did achieve this spotless life. His sacrifice of death for people like you and me has not only set us free from the penalty of sin, but he has given us his Spirit so that we can live this life now in Him. He has made us His children. We've been adopted. This whole glorious transaction creates a new desire within us and a new cry within us that says, Abba Father, Father you, not I. There is new life, and there is real freedom. But don't be fooled into sentimental, legalistic, powerless living. Instead, embrace your sonship. Wake up to the power that now resides in you, the Holy Spirit. Rejoice daily that you are forgiven, that you've been made holy. There's nothing that you've done to achieve that. Allow your eyes to be drawn to the glorious grace that has been given to you in Christ. There's only one glorious man who lived the righteous life, and he lived it for all of us in order that we all might be found in him. The Christian life is impossible apart from Christ, but in Christ, all things are possible. So let's live free today. Let's live in him today because that is where we are. And the prayer of my own heart is that I will see it. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose  through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen.   Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.   And now Lord,  make me an instrument of your peace.  Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon.  Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope.  Where there is darkness, light.  And where there is sadness,  Joy.  Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.  For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life.  Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ.  Amen.  OUR WEBSITE: www.dailyradiobible.com We are reading through the New Living Translation.   Leave us a voicemail HERE: https://www.speakpipe.com/dailyradiobible Subscribe to us at YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Dailyradiobible/featured OTHER PODCASTS: Listen with Apple Podcast DAILY BIBLE FOR KIDS DAILY PSALMS DAILY PROVERBS DAILY LECTIONARY DAILY CHRONOLOGICAL

TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to this episode of the Daily Radio Bible, where your host, Hunter, guides us through a profound journey into the scriptures, exploring the depths of God's word and uncovering the truths within. Today, we continue our 72-day adventure through the Bible, immersing ourselves in the chapters of Deuteronomy and the enlightening words of Galatians. In this episode, Hunter reads from Deuteronomy 19 to 21, delving into ancient laws and the cities of refuge, and then transitions to Galatians chapter three, where Paul speaks of the transformative power of faith and grace. In these passages, we confront the troubling aspects of human nature and the darkness of the world, yet we are reminded of Christ's redemptive sacrifice—described as a shadow of the promise found in the tree where Christ bore the sin of the world. In his compassionate commentary, Hunter encourages us to embrace the gift of a new heart through Christ's love—not through the old systems of law but through a grace that brings about true freedom and unity in faith. He leads us in prayer and reflection, inviting us into a moment of spiritual camaraderie. Join us as we journey together, letting the scriptures illuminate the path to Jesus, and experience the grace and love that transcend our understanding. Remember, you are loved, and together we are united in this faithful exploration. TODAY'S DEVOTION: In today's readings, we see a stark contrast between the realities presented in Deuteronomy and the liberating message found in Galatians. The passages in Deuteronomy reveal the dark depths of human sin and rebellion, the curse and brokenness that pervades our world. But Galatians brings us to the heart of God's redemptive plan—a plan that was in place before the foundations of the earth. There is a tree in the narrative, a disturbing symbol of the curse and death in Deuteronomy, a place where justice is executed. Yet, this is also the shadow of a greater promise—the tree on which Christ was crucified. It's a paradox that the very symbol of cursing becomes the place of redemption as Jesus hangs on that tree for us. He becomes the curse to break its power, to set us free. These passages remind us that the horrific events depicted in Deuteronomy do not reflect God's heart; rather, they unveil the depths of human evil. In contrast, God's heart is revealed on the cross, where Jesus conquers the dominion of sin and death. It's a reminder that the Gospel is the only way to reconciliation, the sole path that transcends sin's curse. Paul passionately conveys this truth in his letter to the Galatians, urging them to trust solely in Christ and not revert to the old ways. The law was never meant to save us or give us life. It was temporary, a guardian until faith in Christ was revealed. The new life we are offered through Christ is a gift of grace and love, a life free from the curse, rooted in God’s heart. Oh, how often we forget and seek to justify ourselves through our efforts, thinking we can mend what's broken in us. Yet, new life is found not in the law or in our own striving, but in God’s gracious gift. We, the true heirs of Abraham, are called to live in this newness, united in Christ as one people, freed and dearly loved. That's the prayer I have for my wife, my daughters, my son, and for you as well—that we hold fast to the Gospel, to the reconciling love displayed on the cross. May we live daily in the freedom of our new identity, with faith, hope, and love at the forefront of everything we do. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. Today marks day 71 in our immersive journey through the Bible as your host, Hunter, guides you with warmth and wisdom. In this episode, we're delving into Deuteronomy chapters 16 through 18, exploring the significance of Passover and the essence of justice, moving to the heartfelt plea for mercy in Psalm 38, and finally reflecting on Paul's letter to the Galatians in chapter 2. Hunter reminds us of the profound influence of grace over the constraints of the law and how fear-based religion is not the path to live. With heartfelt prayers and insights, today's episode invites you to experience the profound love and grace of God, anchoring your spirit in the gospel truth. So, come along as we read, reflect, and pray in pursuit of the divine. You are loved, and let us always remember the joyous strength that this love brings. Alrighty, let's dive in! TODAY'S DEVOTION: The law can't save us, but the law will humble us. The law instructs us. It teaches us our need for God's grace. That is its purpose. It was never meant to save us. Peter would lose sight of this. He was swayed by James's friends. They were people who trafficked in fear and legalism, control. Peter was generous hearted toward these new Gentile believers in Antioch. He was eating with them, sharing his life with them until this group shows up. They tapped into the fear-based brain that tries to pacify God with piety and performance by pretending. They conjured up a storm of fear that grabbed hold of Peter's heart and spread out into Barnabas's heart. Thankfully, Paul is relentless with the gospel, and he verbally slapped some grace into Peter even though this was no doubt an embarrassing rebuke for Peter. I'm sure in the end, he was glad for it. Living in fear is no way to live. Fear is infectious. It's like a virus. It spreads. And in this case, it spread even to Barnabas, who is known as the son of encouragement. But God's grace is infectious too, and this is an infection we don't want to cure. We need to recognize our need to be renewed in the message of the gospel all the time. If Peter and Barnabas needed to be renewed in the message of God's grace, how much more do you and I need to be renewed in it? That old religion of fear shows up all the time in our lives. So we need to be ready with the gospel, ready to remind ourselves that the gospel is not about fear, condemnation, performance. It's not about any of that. Galatians 2:20 tells us what the gospel is. "My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me." See, there's grace and there is the gospel. The Son of God loves us and gives himself for us. And not just us, but for the whole world. Christ undid what Adam had done. He assumed humanity on his shoulders on the cross, and there we find ourselves in him. Because of the vicarious life of Christ, Paul says we are in him on the cross. He says it plainly here. "I have been crucified with Christ. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ, all shall be made alive." Paul holds to this gospel truth. In Christ, Paul sees the completed work of God on behalf of all. And that, my friend, is such good news. It is the antidote to fear-based religion. It is the pathway to freedom, generosity, and love. So let's live in that truth today, what Christ has done for you, what he's done for Gentiles and Jews, what he's done for the world. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul today, that I will see the immense magnitude of the love of God for all. That I'll rest in that, and that I will know its joy. That's a prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, and my daughters, and my son, and that's the prayer that I have for you. Join your host, Hunter, as he takes us on a spiritual journey through the scriptures. Today, we're diving into the book of Deuteronomy, exploring chapters 13 to 15, before moving on to Paul's letter to the Galatians, chapter one. As we uncover God's word, we'll reflect on themes of faith, revelation, and freedom. Hunter shares how God revealed himself to Paul and transformed his understanding, showcasing the true, loving nature of God. Through prayer, scripture, and heartfelt reflections, Hunter invites us to open our eyes to the divine revelations God has for each of us. So, settle in, open your heart, and let's embark on this soul-enriching journey together. And special note, Hunter sends a warm birthday wish to his mom, Priscilla. Now, let's dive into today's reading and reflection. TODAY'S DEVOTION: In today's devotion, we explore a profound transformation that took place in the life of Paul—a story that resonates deeply with those familiar with the journey from blindness to sight. Paul found his freedom not through doctrine or diligent study, but through a divine revelation from Jesus Christ. This revelation is central to our faith, illustrating that it is God who reveals Himself to us, opening our eyes to truly see and begin embracing the reality of who we are in Him. Paul's encounter on the road to Damascus was not an intellectual exercise; it was a profound spiritual awakening. God broke through the lies that blinded Paul and revealed His true, loving, and grace-filled nature. The scales fell from Paul's eyes, not just physically, but spiritually, as he began to see God for who He truly is—a God who values and loves people, beyond our flawed notions of theological purity. Paul's vision of God, prior to this revelation, was one that endorsed harsh actions against those who believed differently. But through this divine intervention, Paul discovered the God who values relationship and grace over legalistic correctness. It was a transformation that catalyzed a journey of discovering the true nature of God—a nature fully revealed in Jesus Christ. This revelation invites us into a similar journey of discovery and transformation. God reveals Himself to us, opening our hearts to the freedom, joy, and love that come from knowing Him truly. As we look into the face of Jesus, we see God unmasked, a God who intervenes to prevent humanity's spiral into non-being and draws us into His life-giving presence. Our prayer, then, is for eyes to be opened, scales to fall away—revealing the glorious love of our Lord Jesus Christ. May each of us experience this liberating revelation, knowing without a doubt that we are embraced by a grace-filled Father who sets us free and makes us whole. His love and truth, when revealed, transform us and invite us to live as reflections of His kingdom on earth. That's the prayer I hold for my soul, for my family, and for each one of you. Today, we dive into Deuteronomy chapters 10 through 12 and conclude with Mark chapter 16. Together, we will explore the messages of covenant renewal, the love and obedience required by God, and the profound transformation of the resurrection. We are reminded that Jesus has not left us behind, but rather goes ahead to meet us. So, join us as we warm ourselves around the fire of God's love and allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate the Scriptures today. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe to the podcast, and always remember, you are loved. TODAY'S DEVOTION: They entered the tomb grieving and weeping. Mary Magdalene is the first to arrive, and she is overcome with grief. Somehow, in this death, she feels left behind. This tomb, this cemetery, is all a painful reminder that she is all alone and grieving. This man that had delivered her from demonic possession, forgiven her of everything she had ever done, that had acknowledged her, seen her, and loved her, somehow left her behind. At least, that's what she thought. Until an angel in white shows up. He has a very simple message for her. He wants to let her know that he has not left her behind. This tomb seems to indicate that God has left us behind. In fact, every time we go to a funeral, we may be confronted with the thought that perhaps God has left us behind, that somehow it's all for nothing. But now, in this empty tomb, there's an angel there dressed in white. He has a new message for Mary and for you and me and the whole world. His message is to go. His message is to go tell the disciples and Peter that Jesus has not left us behind. In fact, he says these words: "Now go and tell his disciples, including Peter, that Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there just as he told you before he died." The message of the resurrection is this: God has not left us behind. In fact, he has gone ahead of us into Galilee, and there he will meet us and convince us with his body, with his life, with his spirit, that he is with us from now until the end of the age. God has not left us behind or abandoned us. No. He has come to rescue us. He has come and rescued us completely. He is rescuing us from the despair of being left behind, left alone. That is the message of the resurrection. God has gone ahead. He is meeting us there, and he will continue to meet us each and every day of our life. Be convinced. Allow the Lord to convince you and live in the light of the God who goes ahead of you and meets you right where you are. Amen. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. Hunter encourages us to see the Bible's invitation to draw closer to Jesus as our advocate and savior. Through prayer, Hunter leads us in seeking God's presence and purpose for our lives. Join us as we explore these profound truths and open our hearts to the wisdom and love of God. Let's walk this journey together, and remember, you are loved. TODAY'S DEVOTION: They were rebellious. They worshiped other gods even after God had rescued them from Egypt. After all that, they would still reject him. Like all people everywhere, we reject God. But God doesn't reject us. I know it sounds like this, like God is wanting to reject them, to do away with them in these passages we've read today. And God knows that's how we often feel, don't we? That God has rejected us, that he despises us, that he wants to judge us. And no doubt, this is what Moses believes to be true about the heart of God. But God's heart is not fully known to Moses yet. He, like we, are seeing things through a glass darkly. But one day, he will see fully. One day, he will fully know the heart of God. The day that he sees Jesus face to face. The day that he sees the Son of God offering himself on behalf of all rebellious humanity. On another mountain on Mount Moriah. On a cross. There in the Christological light of eternity, the true heart of God is being seen by Moses, and the heart he sees far exceeds what Moses could even think or imagine. Moses had to plead over and over again for these people. Over and over again, he falls face down to the ground and pleads time and time again that God would be merciful, and God was merciful. God's mercy was not because these people had somehow merited mercy, but because God had promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that he would find a way to rescue them, to bless them, to make them his own. And his plan was not just for them, but for all people. Mark 15 shows us exactly how God's going to do that by offering himself, by pouring out his self-giving, sacrificial love on the cross, taking punishment on our behalf, ransoming us from sin, death, and the grave. He's doing something about rebel-hearted people there on that cross. He's forgiving them, shedding his blood for them, embracing them. He's rescuing them from their delusion. He has not come to judge the world, but to save the world through him. Someone greater than Moses is our advocate now. Jesus is the greater advocate. Jesus is undoing what Adam did. The vicarious life of Christ was not just for the descendants of Abraham. This was for all humanity. First Corinthians 15 verse 22: For as in Adam all die, so in Christ, all will be made alive. Jesus is a better Moses, and he has come to reveal the Father's heart to the world and to make a way for us to enter in and to occupy, not the land, but life in him. So, let us enter in by faith. God's good heart has been revealed, and you are his. That's a prayer that I have for my own soul. That's a prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, and my daughters, and my son. And that's a prayer that I have for you.

Today is March 7th, 2025, and this is day 66 of our journey through the bible. I'm your host, Hunter, joining you as your bible reading coach and spiritual companion. Today, we're diving into the rich scriptures found in Deuteronomy chapters 5 and 6, Psalm 43, and Mark 14. Together, we'll explore the decrees and regulations given to Israel as they prepared to enter the promised land, the heartfelt cries of Psalm 43, and the poignant events in the life of Jesus leading up to his betrayal. Through these readings, we'll uncover themes of faith, obedience, and the transformative power of self-giving love. Let's reflect, pray, and journey together as we draw closer to God and His word. So grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and join us for this meaningful time in the scriptures and prayer. TODAY'S DEVOTION: There's something that Peter, Judas, and all the disciples, even you and I, have in common: betrayal. Despite all our best intentions, despite all our resolve, we have betrayed him with our lips, our words, our feet with a kiss. We are all guilty of falling away. Isaiah says all of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We've all left God's path to follow our own. All of us have been deceived by a lie and separated ourselves from the source of our life. We've lived lives separating ourselves from God. We've all bitten into that deceitful fruit that makes us betray our God, ourselves, and others. So Jesus takes the cup. That's going to mean bitter suffering and death for him. It's a cup of his blood shed for you, for me, for the whole world. And Jesus offers himself in self-giving, radically forgiving, co-suffering love for all. In his death, he defeats death and draws us into his resurrection life. He drank the cup of suffering and hands us a cup of life, that we might participate with him in his self-giving, radically forgiving, co-suffering love. Having freely received, now we are invited to freely give and to join him in sharing his life with this world. So let's do that. Let us learn the ways of self-giving, radically forgiving, co-suffering love. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, and my daughters, and my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to another enriching episode of the Daily Radio Bible, where we journey together through the scriptures to explore the life-giving word of God. Today is March 6th, 2025, and on this day 66 of our year-long voyage through the Bible, Hunter, your devoted brother and host, guides us from the picturesque backdrop of Oregon. In unison with sisters and brothers worldwide, we delve into Deuteronomy chapters 3 and 4, Psalm 36, and Mark chapter 13. Hunter emphasizes the vital call to vigilance in our spiritual journey, drawing parallels between keeping watch on a ship and maintaining spiritual alertness. Together, we reflect on the encouragement to stay vigilant, knowing God keeps watch with us, offering His presence and wisdom. As we bathe our minds and hearts in prayer and scripture, we are reminded of the transformative power of God's word and the simple significance of human connection in our daily lives. Join us in this sacred pause as we give ear to God's everlasting love and let it renew our spirits. And remember, dear friends, you are loved beyond measure. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Keep watch. Those are Jesus' final words in Mark 13. Back when I was much younger in college, during the summer, I worked on a boat in the Bering Sea. One of the responsibilities we had was to keep watch. If you were a bystander up in the wheelhouse, it might look like keeping watch wasn't a very active thing to do. However, it was anything but passive. You had to stay alert. It was absolutely critical that you had someone on watch at all times. The person on watch had to make course corrections to ensure that the ship was on course and heading in the right direction. The safety of the vessel and crew was in the hands of the person at watch. To fail at your duty on watch was an offense worthy of being fired. You had the responsibility to keep people safe, to avoid rocks, other boats, keep from running aground. Keeping watch was anything but passive time. It was active time. If you were passive, you ran the risk of being lulled to sleep. Well, Peter, James, John, Andrew, they all come to Jesus. They want to know about future events. They want to know when the kingdom of God is going to be fully established. They want to know when all this is going to take place and when the world's going to be made right again. The answer they are given offers them little satisfaction. Jesus says about the time or day no one knows, not even the angels in heaven nor the Son, but only the Father. Jesus tells them that in light of that fact, it's important to do those things that diligent watchkeepers do. Stay alert. Be vigilant. Build routines into your watch hours. Ensure that you remain awake because the stakes are too high. The safety and welfare of the lives around you are in jeopardy if you're not keeping watch. We must be faithful to keep watch for the sake of our family, our marriage, for those in our church, for our neighbors, for the crew. But there's encouragement for us to stay vigilant during the long watches of the night. That's because he is keeping watch with us. He is with us every hour, and we can learn from him through the watches of night. The stakes are high, but the company is good. Psalm 42:8 says, but each day, the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me. And through each night, I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life. He gives us a song in the night as we vigilantly keep watch, as we build routines into the watch hours. And that's what I want this podcast to be for all of us. May it be a place where we learn to keep watch, to wait for God, to experience his presence while we wait. May we know his songs as we wait for his return. Keep watch. That's a prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity.
