Listen while cooking

The last time I listened to the Badland Girls, I was making a chocolate puff pastry dessert with a chocolate ganache topping. As I'm rolling out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface, I'm chuckling at accent swapping hijinks. As I'm putting the chocolate pieces in the pastry squares and wrapping them up in little purses, I'm giggling while they guess Jennifer Jason Leigh's age. While I'm pouring boiled cream over 8 ounces (by weight) of milk chocolate, I'm marvelling at the (2009) Star Trek hate. As I'm whipping the ganache with a little bit of butter to thicken it, I'm wishing the Badland Girls would start a podcast about writing because Destiny and Jackson (I'm assuming Rhea too, but she wasn't in the latest episode) talk about it with an infectious passion. As I'm pulling the chocolate purses out of the oven and piping some ganache over them, I'm finishing the episode and wishing there was another.

The point is, these guys are great and hilarious and you should subscribe. Also, I can't roll out puff pastry without thinking about Badland Girls anymore.

I always feel like a more well-rounded person after listening to this podcast. Very insightful stuff delivered with a kind of wonderfully relentless positivity. Also, video games, anime, horror movies!!! Pretty great!
