Because of Anita

We’ve been waiting to hear from Dr. Blasey-Ford (and now we have her fabulous memoir, too). Really great interviews.

I was months old when Professor Anita Hill testified in front of the Supreme Court. I was in my late 20s when Dr. Christine Blasey Ford went through the process. Both of these women are heroes. Thank the creators of this series for not only developing this project but discussing the nuance and importance of these women’s stories. I have listened to this series more than once because it is so important. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I deeply admire Professor Hill for her activism. Fortunately her actions gifted us with a positive legacy of movements like Me, Too and workplace sexual harassment outlawed in whole. Unfortunately, negative implications such as women competing with other women over the affections of men, EEOC sometimes ineffectiveness and wives standing by the side of adulterous husbands still exist. I was in my 30’s during Professor Hill’s testimony. The fact that Thomas coupled with a white woman was proof enough to me that Professor Hill was telling the truth. White women tend to do any financial and/or sexual deed to keep black men. Since the Professor Hill testimony I never, ever thought highly of Thomas or his wife. I found and continue to find them repulsive. I will always respect Professor Hill for giving we females-young, middle and senior ages - the gift of EEOC work protections. I have her first book and will read it. I look forward to listening to all parts of this podcast. By the way, I am very disappointed that not one black Supreme Court judge was and is coupled with a black spouse. Marshall committed adultery on his dying black wife with the Asian he eventually married, and he was appointed to the SCOTUS. Thomas, a sexual pervert, devalued black women and settled for a bigoted white wife as he was appointed to SCOTUS. Lastly, Brown continues the cancel culture of black families with her white husband alongside her ascension to the SCOTUS. Such egregious examples for black and all children.

I just finished this excellent series. 5/5⭐️ I’m looking forward to what you two will be doing next!
