Betrayed, Book 2 of The Turner Chronicles
The War is over. Isabella has won, and the Talent Master is dead. Aaron Turner now lives in N’Ark, Isabella’s capital, where he mourns his murdered wife and son. All he wants is to tip a bottle, stare at walls, and recover. But they won’t leave him alone. The Isabellan government and slavers both want him dead. Savages look to him as their prophesied savior. His lawyer wants to control him. His neighbors and friends have been murdered, and a once dead shaman declares him a servant of her One God. Aaron has to make things right. His honor demands it. Dusting off his guns, he sets aside his grief, readies his Talent, and declares a one man war against a nation that has betrayed him, the Clan, and itself.
Even Better

I was a bit hesitant as I often don't like sequels but I like Betrayed even more than Traitor and am really looking forward to the 3rd book! There are some psyological insights into some of the characters that I really like.

Episode 2: The Attack of the Phantom Menace(s)

Aaron is a flawed, and reluctant hero. A guy that you can't help but like and find yourself smacking your head at his obtuseness sometimes. Mark Eller adds definition to Aaron Turner and expands his world a bit in this installment. This book is less about his ability to transfer to a different world and more about what he does with the knowledge he brought over from the old to the new world. I've personally enjoyed listening to the podcast version of this book. I *highly* suggest that you read or listen to Traitor first to get an idea of who Aaron Turner is and the world that he came from.
Can Life go on?

In this second book of the Turner Chronicles, Mark Eller has allowed us think that maybe, with the war over, Aaron Turner can now live in peace, mourning his family. Not to be. Many want him for different things, all not what he wants. Aaron has to decide what he believes, who is telling the truth and fight, again, to find justice. Great story, kept me guessing and entertained all the way to the end.
