Bending Beauty With Marc St-Onge, Founder of Bend Beauty Beyond Beauty Project: The Podcast

    • Society & Culture

Marc St-Onge is a Halifax-based entrepreneur, scientist, investor, and advisor fostering transformative change across well-being and food sustainability. Marc is the founder of several biotechnology companies including Bend Beauty, Aycoutay Technologies, Smallfood, and Ascenta Health which sold to Nature’s Way in 2015. Marc has been recognized as one of Canada’s top leaders in Corporate Environmental Stewardship. Marc says, “The cultural norms of society have reduced beauty to a superficial look. Real beauty starts on the inside when we show up as our most authentic selves. At Bend Beauty we define beauty as a state of being – the conscious choice to live meaningfully, authentically, and a touch magically. This is how we are bending beauty.”

In this episode, Marc discusses his passion for natural products, healing, and looking at our body in a completely different perspective, as well as Bend’s hard-hitting science approach to improve how the body functions from the inside out. He explains the gut-skin connection and how to create a more rejuvenating environment in our gut, the different things that can trigger an inflammatory response in our bodies, the consumption of omega 3s and its role in the resolution phase of inflammation, and how exactly collagen works. Bridgett and Mark also discuss the importance of self-love and celebrating all of the aspects of ourselves authentically, moving away from the fear-based concept of what beauty and aging is, and the next generation of brands and entrepreneurs who are committed to changing the narrative by doing things differently.
