Beyond the Building is a midweek conversation centered around the Compass Worship teaching. Join us as we continue the conversation beyond the table and beyond the building into your home, car, or wherever you listen so you can continue the conversation with those around you.

    Overcoming Anxiety Week 3

    This week Lucas, Kaleb, Nolan, Drew and Carter discuss their takeaways from this week's teaching. We focused again on Philippians 4:6 where not only did Paul tell us to pray specifically but to pray with gratitude. We learned that graditude is a pathway to peace because it changes our perspective, creates a mindset of abundance, builds grit, and reminds us of the community God has given us. **While we are focusing on the spiritual issues that can help us overcome anxiety we also understand that there are instances where it is absolutely necessary for someone to seek professional care and or medication to help with their anxiety. Our hope is that through this series people are empowered to seek whatever help they may need but that we will also see this as a spiritual battle that God wants us to overcome as well.     Overcoming Anxiety Week 2

    This week Ian, Kaleb, Austyn, Lucus and Lauren discuss their takeaways from this week's teaching. This week we focused on Philippians 4:6 and Paul's instruction for us to pray specifically about our anxiety. We were challenged to name our anxiety, be specific about what we need God to do, pray scripture over our anxiety and to celebrate God's control and goodness. **While we are focusing on the spiritual issues that can help us overcome anxiety we also understand that there are instances where it is absolutely necessary for someone to seek professional care and or medication to help with their anxiety. Our hope is that through this series people are empowered to seek whatever help they may need but that we will also see this as a spiritual battle that God wants us to overcome as well.     Overcoming Anxiety Week 1

    This week Jeff, Joe and Courtney discuss their takeaways from this week's teaching. This week we began our 4 week series on Overcoming Anxiety. We focused on Philippians 4:4-5 and talked about how we need to rejoice, or celebrate in truths about God and the first two truths we looked at were that God is in control and God is good. If we can stay positioned between these two truths we can begin to experience freedom from the weight of anxiety. **While we are focusing on the spiritual issues that can help us overcome anxiety we also understand that there are instances where it is absolutely necessary for someone to seek professional care and or medication to help with their anxiety.     Knowing You Week 4

    This week Ian, Kylie, Carter and Kaleb as they discuss their takeaways from this week's teaching. This week we finished our Knowing You series by focusing on where we are from. We looked at Philippians 3:18-20 and 1 Peter 2:9-12. We saw that in Christ, we are citizens of heaven and because this world is not our home we will think and live differently than the rest of the world. As Christ followers we shouldn't be concerned if we look different from the world we should be concerned if we don't. We looked at the truth that our identity determines our activity and God calls us the "salt of the earth, light of the world and city on a hill." When we know who we are we are able to go be who we are to the world around us. When we know who we are in Christ we will know what to do. We focused on 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 and saw that if we are in Christ we are Ambassadors for Christ, you are an ambassador of Christ, chosen and appointed by God to represent and promote His love on earth as it is in heaven.     Knowing You Week 1

    This week Ian, Leah and Alex as they discuss their takeaways from this week's teaching. This week we began a series called Knowing You. When we know who we are in Christ we will know what to do. This week we looked at Ephesians 2:10 and saw that In Christ we are God's Poetic Statement, His Masterpiece, created of Him, for Him and from Him for His divine purpose. When we embrace that truth we begin to not seek our purpose but to bring our purpose with us in everything that we do.     3 Principles for Experiencing your "Promised Land"

    This week Ian, Jeff, Morgan, Owen and Sam as they discuss their takeaways from this week's teaching. This week we focused on the truth that throughout the pages of Scripture God has always desired for His people to have a fullness of life. We looked at the Israelites preparation to enter the Promised Land from Joshua 3. In that passage we learned 3 principles we could follow to ensure we are able to experience our "promised land." 1. Consecrate Ourselves, 2. Obey God's Word, and 3. Take a Step of Faith. If we will do those things we set ourselves in a position to see God do amazing things among us.
