The Magic of Music with Conductor Wilson Hermanto

The Magic of Music with Conductor Wilson Hermanto

Culture makes us better human beings. Music is a great example of culture. In fact, one could argue that music is a necessity—not a nicety. It’s an international language.

Creating music is an elevated act like no other. Performing music connects and bridges human differences. Witnessing a live performance is a vivid multi-sensory experience that combines venue, performer-audience connection and the music itself.
But changes in our world are making such rich human experiences harder to come by... and the future (and business) of performance art is uncertain.

In this episode, join Host Craig James and Conductor Wilson Hermanto, the Principal Guest Conductor of Cameristi della Scala. They discuss what Hermanto calls “the higher plateau” and the impact of music on humanity and the future. Listen-in

Colonel Good has flown 30+ types of aircraft such as the F-111 and F-15… and flew aboard Space Shuttle Atlantis for STS-125 (the final Space Shuttle servicing mission to the Hubble). He was also Mission Specialist 2 on STS-132 which docked with the International Space Station for an assembly mission.

The Reinvention of Capitalism with Peter Georgescu

The Reinvention of Capitalism with Peter Georgescu

Why does Capitalism exist? Should it be reimagined? How do we define opportunity equality? Is American democracy at stake?
Host Craig James is joined by Peter Georgescu, Chairman Emeritus of Young & Rubicam. Peter has a gripping life story. While growing up in Romania he was arrested along with his brother and grandmother and was sent to a work camp. He was only ten years old at the time. His family was victim of the Iron Curtain and the oppression of the Soviet Union (USSR). Fortunately, in 1954 he was rescued by the intervention of Congresswoman Frances Payne Bolton and President Eisenhower.
Peter has seen the worst of oppression as well as the fruits of Capitalism—becoming a successful ad executive in New York. With his range of experiences, Peter reflects on what he believes to be both the “good versions" and “bad versions" of Capitalism—and asserts that things can be much better than they are today.
Peter's current work on Stakeholder Capitalism has been driven by his past—yet is intended to catalyze significant change for our collective future.

Concise, fun, insightful - great podcast!

Just discovered this about a month ago - love it. Thought provoking, great themes. Craig is an attentive listener with great questions and his guests are thoroughly engaged. Loved the Seth Godin interview (how is that guy ALWAYS so interesting?), but also discovered some new authors and thinkers that I need to now learn more about. Highly recommended!

This is an awesome podcast. I love the way Craig sets up different parts of the interview with examples, and the first 3 guests were great. The topics are super deep, but the host keeps it real and down-to-earth. Well done.
