The Leeeeeoooo Last Quarter Moon is on Oct. 24 (1:03 am PDT) at 01°24’ Leo-Scorpio. Like the recent Aries Full Moon, this is a high-tension, volatile Last Quarter Moon chart. Keep your cool! [10:42] Lunar Phase Family Cycle (LPFC). This is the Last Quarter phase in the LPFC that began with the New Moon on July 28, 2022. The First Quarter Moon in this LPFC was on April 27, 2023, the Full Moon on Jan. 25, 2024. This cycle has been about the spirit of Leo, about creativity, asserting your true personality, inspiring others, and bringing joy to the world.  [12:30] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon Periods. On Oct. 21 (2:00 pm PDT), the Moon trines the Sun. It's VOC for 1 hour 50 minutes, then enters Cancer (3:50 pm PDT). Now is the time to reach out. The Aries Full Moon (Oct. 17, 4:26 am PDT, 24°35’ Aries) pits the Sun and Moon against squares from Mars opposed Pluto – a high-powered, stressful configuration called a Cardinal Grand Cross. [9:19] Cardinal Grand Crosses are stressful because all of the planets involved in the configuration want to do the same job: to initiate something. Mars opposed Pluto reveals power struggles.  [11:36] This is the Full Moon in a lunar phase family cycle (LPFC) that began on April 19, 2023, at a New Moon solar eclipse at 29º50’ Aries. The First Quarter Moon in this LPFC was on Jan. 17, 2024, and the Last Quarter is on July 17, 2025. [13:11] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. On Oct. 15 (1 pm PDT), the Moon in Pisces sextiles Pluto. It’s VOC for 34 minutes, then enters Aries (1:34 pm PDT). Go deeply into emotions. [13:55] On Oct. 17 (12:26 pm PDT), the Moon squares Pluto. The Capricorn First Quarter Moon (Oct. 10, 11:55 am PDT) is at 17º57’ Capricorn and features a stressful T-square configuration with Mars in Cancer. Work out in order to work off some of the stress.     258 | Libra New Moon/Solar Eclipse: A Decisive Cut!

    This week, the Libra New Moon is the last eclipse in this relationship-oriented sign until 2033. Mercury enters the heart of the Sun for communication breakthroughs and squares Mars for communication conflicts. Venus trines Saturn with an assist from Mars, and if you’re hoping for a relationship to turn serious, this could be the moment. And a listener question prompts a detailed look at how to interpret a transit in your birth chart. Plus: It happened in a moment, reflected glory, and responsibility and consequences! Timestamps (full show notes at website) [1:09] Mercury conjoins the Sun on Sep. 30 (2:09 pm PDT) at 08º11’ Libra. It's on the Sabian symbol 9 Libra, Three old masters hanging in an art gallery. When a planet is in a close conjunction with the Sun, it’s called cazimi, an Arabic term that means “in the heart of the Sun.”  [3:22] Moon Report! The Libra New Moon Solar Eclipse (Oct. 2, 11:49 am PDT, 10º03’ Libra) is the last eclipse in Libra until 2033. [4:15] Look back to past eclipses at this degree for clues as to what this eclipse could bring: most recently, Oct. 3, 1986 and Oct. 3, 2005. [5:07] Mars at 15º46’ Cancer squares the eclipse point, accentuating the quality of release that is necessary at this eclipse, which is close to the Moon’s South Node. Since the eclipse is in Libra, relationships could be due for a shakeup. If you need to make a decisive cut with the past or with people who don’t help you be your best self, this eclipse could help. [6:33] This is the New Moon in a Lunar Phase Family Cycle (LPFC) that will unfold over the next few years. And because this New Moon is an eclipse, it's symbolizing important changes in our lives which can take time to develop. The First Quarter of this LPFC comes on July 2, 2025, the Full Moon is on April 1, 2026, and the Last Quarter Moon is on Dec. 30, 2026, at 09º05’ Libra. [8:32] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. On Oct. 1 (2:38 pm PDT), the Moon in Virgo trines Pluto, is VOC for 41 minutes, then enters Libra (3:19 pm PDT).  [9:53] On Oct. 4 (3:40 am PDT), the Moon in Libra squares Pluto, is VOC for 42 minutes, then enters Scorpio (4:22 am PDT).  [10:47] The Moon in Scorpio sextiles Pluto on Oct. 6 (3:52 pm PDT), is VOC for 42 minutes, then enters Sagittarius (4:34 pm PDT).  [12:23] Venus trines Saturn on Oct. 4 (10:04 am PDT, 14º07’ Scorpio-Pisces). Venus and Saturn together are in a grand trine in water signs with Mars in Cancer, a prime time for relationships to become serious.  [14:03] Mercury squares Mars on Oct. 5 (11:37 pm PDT), at 17º33’ Libra- Cancer.     This week, the Cancer Last Quarter Moon highlights responsibilities toward others. It's a very busy week for Mercury, which aspects Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and the Lunar Nodes, and then moves into diplomatic Libra. The Sun’s aspect to the North Node previews the upcoming Solar Eclipse; Mars and Saturn meet in a driven, productive aspect; and a listener question about the angles of the birth chart. Reflect on work/home balance and make intentions to redress any imbalances. [8:57] The Moon squares Uranus on Sep. 28 (8:36 pm PDT) at 26°56’ Leo-Taurus. It's VOC for 6 hours and 6 minutes before entering Virgo on Sep. 29 (2:42 am PDT). If you have a habit of resisting change for fear of embarrassment, consciously work to change that pattern. Pluto is on 30 Capricorn, A secret business conference. Knowledge is power! Use it to achieve powerful ends that can help others. [15:24] Mercury enters Libra on Sep. 26 (1:09 am PDT, through Oct. 13). Look for ways to bring the qualities of grace, balance, diplomacy, and tact to communications. Watch out for manipulation or passive-aggressive tendencies. [16:44] On Sep. 29, the Sun and Mercury oppose the North Node (12:25 am PDT and 5:18 pm PDT) at 06°38’ Libra-Aries. The Sagittarius First Quarter Moon (Sep. 10, 11:05 pm PDT, 19º00’ Sagittarius-Virgo) is the first action point in the Virgo New Moon cycle that began on Sep. 2, 2024, at 11º04’ Virgo. [4:42] This is also the First Quarter in a lunar phase family cycle (LPFC) that began at the New Moon on Dec. 12, 2023. The Full Moon in this LPFC comes on June 11, 2025, and the Last Quarter Moon on March 11, 2026. Look to those lunations for more feedback about what you put into motion at that Sagittarius New Moon. [6:10] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon Periods. On Sep. 9 (10:11 am PDT) the Moon sextiles Pluto at 29º52’ Scorpio-Capricorn. The Moon is VOC for only 14 minutes before moving into Sagittarius (10:25 am PDT). [7:31] On Sep. 11 (5:20 pm PDT), the Moon squares Neptune at 28º45’ Sagittarius-Pisces, then is VOC for 2 hours 17 minutes before it enters Capricorn (7:37 pm PDT). If you find yourself in a pattern of disappointment, try a new approach. [8:36] The Moon conjuncts Pluto at 29º49’ Capricorn on Sep. 14 (12:35 am PDT). It's VOC for about 18 minutes, then enters Aquarius (12:53 am PDT). What do we need to do to be better prepared for the changes to come? [10:45] Mercury sextiles Mars on Sep. 11 (8:42 pm PDT) at 04º21’ Virgo-Cancer. Mercury is on Sabian symbol 5 Virgo, A man dreaming of fairies; Mars is on 5 Cancer, An automobile is wrecked by a train. Don't let your mind run away from you, and pay attention to what's happening around you. [12:25] The Sun squares Jupiter at on Sep. 12 (3:53 am PDT). In practical terms, on this date, the best idea is to not take ill-considered action. [14:43] Venus trines Jupiter at 20º23’ Libra-Gemini on Sep. 14 (10:34 pm PDT). This is an extraordinarily lucky transit! A great day for social events too! [16:27] Mars in Cancer squares the lunar nodes (Aries/Libra) on Sep. 15 (7:25 p.m. PDT) at 6º38’. This transit hints at the Oct. 2, 2024 Libra Solar eclipse very close to these degrees. During that time, Pluto retrograded into Scorpio between April 20 and Nov. 10, 1995, and peeked ahead into Capricorn from Jan. 25 to June 13, 2008, before leaving Sagittarius for good on Nov. 26, 2008.
