Tiffincast

The Black Live Matter - #BLM - movement has inspired many people to create opportunities for positive change in our society in the last few months since George Floyd was murdered in day-light, in Minneapolis.

Sarah Thompson, currently the senior marketing and communications director at The Village for Families & Children has spent more than twenty years working in agency, media and community-based non-profit organizations. She is the owner and publisher of SHOPBLACKCT, a black-owned business guide. Sarah is also a portrait and wedding photographer.

Sarah is deeply committed to anti-racist work, connecting and empowering people, fostering community and championing for those who need it most.

"SHOPBLACKCT.com is a one-stop directory and blog site with the mission of driving business to and awareness of Black-owned businesses in Greater Hartford, Connecticut. A team of volunteers give their time, energy and talent to keep this site running and relevant. This effort is 100% about giving, lifting up others and expecting nothing in return."

Corey Lynn Tucker, a photographer who focuses on elopements, small weddings and branding photos is one of the first volunteers who signed on to help SHOPBLACKCT with their visual communication needs.
