The Lancers finished as state runner-up the year before at 26-1, falling to Mr. Basketball Jason Collier and Springfield Catholic Central. Pardon then had a successful college career at Wright State and Bowling Green and two-year career in Europe.

    Ron Niekamp is the featured guest this week with Lynn Groll, Tory Strock and Dave Krauss. Niekamp wa a St. Henry graduate before playing collegiately at the University of Miami. He started his coaching career at Parkway before taking over Ottawa-Glandorf for five seasons, which included Final Four trips in 1977 and 1978. His last stop before joining the college ranks was a six-year stint at Lima Senior which reached the state tourney in 1982. His high school record was 208-86. Niekamp then became headman at the Univesity of Findlay for 26 years, posting an impressive 598-185 mark, highlighted by a perfect 36-0 national championship season in 2008-09. Krauss was an assistant on the national championship team.

John played college basketball at Oakland and Bowling Green and now serves as a college basketball official. He has officiated around the country, including in the NCAA Tournament.
