    Cars vs. Bikes

    Cars vs. Bikes

There is an uneasy coexistence of cars and bikes on the road, and cyclist injuries & deaths from collisions with cars and trucks are on the rise. So what’s being done to address this? What can you do — as a cyclist, and as a driver — to do your part? And what’s being done in car & truck technology to help the cause? We talk with the lead engineer of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) at General Motors who works on bicycle detection technology to help keep cyclists safer on the roads.

Skin & Ski 3 Million Feet in a Year?? Noah Dines’ Big Objective

Skin & Ski 3 Million Feet in a Year?? Noah Dines’ Big Objective

Is it possible to skin and ski 3 million vertical feet in a year? On January 1, 2024, Noah Dines set out to find out, and so far, he’s doing incredibly well: on July 9, Noah crossed the 2 million vertical feet mark.
So what prompted Noah to attempt this project? What does his typical day look like? What have been the biggest challenges so far, and what gear is he using to pull this off? I had lots of questions, and Noah offered lots of great answers to this conversation.

The Team Behind the Team: USA Olympic Head Team Physician, Dr. Gloria Beim

When the world’s elite athletes compete later this month at the Olympic Games in Paris, who treats them? And when injuries happen, how are decisions made about whether the athlete can continue to compete? To answer these questions and how it all works, our guest is Dr. Gloria Beim, the Head Team Physician at the Olympic Games for Team USA.
Jonathan and Dr. Beim talk about the Olympics and the medical teams that support athletes there, and they also discuss Dr. Beim’s truly remarkable story that led to a life in medical care, where she continues to serve everyone from regular folks in rural communities, to some of the greatest athletes in human history.

Adrian Ballinger on Everest, Ethics, & Unexplored Places

Mt. Everest: for some people, it still represents the holy grail of adventure. For others, it conjures up images of long queues, lots of trash, and a tourism industry that has gotten out of hand. So what is the truth about Everest, and why does it generate such strong feelings for so many of us?
Our guest today is Adrian Ballinger, a climber, skier, mountain guide, and the founder and CEO of Alpenglow Expeditions. Adrian does an outstanding job of explaining the multiple sides of Everest, and the many different ways to approach it.

BstarrCB ,

Important and informative Content

I enjoy Blister podcasts across the board but really loved the one I just listened to about Mt town housing issues. Thanks you for the informative discussion and also taking the time to shed light on the issues impacting CB and other mountain communities on the hyper local level.

A Brief-ish History of Blister

I listen to most Blister podcast’s and enjoy virtually all of them. This episode was just super. It made my best of category because it reinforced why I read blister reviews for any equipment I’m considering purchasing. It was also very cool because I have skied with Michael at the last couple of Blister Summit’s and he did a great job of interviewing Jonathan. The entire Blister team is best in class. I’m looking forward to Blister Summit 25.

Great podcast, would be better if Jonathan could snowboard

As a proud member of the 100, I always look forward to listening to this podcast, especially in the off season as a way to feel connected to the skiing community. If you ski or love the outdoors, you will enjoy listening.

Jonathan is a great host who has insightful perspectives and asks intelligent questions, almost as if he is well educated. I wish he could snowboard, but until Jeremy Jones starts a podcast I suppose I will keep listening to Blister.

Each month I eagerly anticipate Reviewing the News with Cody Townsend. I am sorry Cody about your team losing the Super Bowl, but on the bright side, now that the season is over hopefully you guys don’t need to talk about the NFL for a while.

Keep up the great work, folks! Seriously, this podcast is great.
