In each episode Joel and Lily cover about 1/4 to 1/5 of a book, discussing what happened, why it happened and what lessons Lily is learning from the books as she reads them. It's part Cliff's Notes and part cute and instrospective conversation between a father and daughter who love the same books for the same (and sometimes totally different) reasons.

They spend some time on the current state of Harry’s life and how it rapidly begins to change with his introduction to the Wizarding World and his journey from Privett Drive to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft And Wizardry.     In the seventh episode of Potter And Daughter, Joel and Lily pick up right where the last episode abruptly left off with Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets at chapter 14. Things start calming down around Hogwarts until Riddle’s diary goes missing. A main character gets petrified, and Harry and Ron meet Aragog. Ginny heads down into the chamber and Harry follows her, eventually facing off against the memory of his greatest foe.     In the eighth episode of Potter And Daughter, Joel and Lily tackle the first seven chapters of Harry Potter And The Prisoner of Azkaban and ask the questions, “Who is Sirius Black, and why does everyone think he’s after Harry?” They also discuss magical pets, new Hogwarts professors (Remus Lupin and… Hagrid?!), and malicious magical creatures like Dementors and Boggarts.
