Book 'em, Danno: An Old Hawaii Five-O Podcast

My usual podcast M.O. seems to be this: become obsessed by a classic TV show, discover a podcast, start listening only to discover that it’s creator(s) have abandoned it, despair, and soldier on in isolation as no one in my real life cares about 50–year-old programming. So I am overjoyed to find something that not only appears to still be in production, but which is also really entertaining. I am three episodes in and am charmed. I mean she had me at her love of Virginia Gregg (who was never on Hawaii Five O, but who should have been). I like the format. I am here for the commentary and the lust of fabulous period furnishings and outfits. My only critique is that I think it’s okay to go with spoilers on something like this.

Enjoyable discussions on the show, TV, history, pop culture, production techniques, acting, actors, cultural appropriation, fashion, color theory… Kiki has a genuine excitement and enthusiasm that is infectious and her personal attitude and literary “voice” are engaging and refreshing. It is all the more impressive given that it is the production entirely of 1 person!Similar podcasts are usually 2 people playing off of each other, but Kiki handles it all and it’s full of AWESOME-NESS! “It is my thing, it is my jam - let’s go to Hawaii”

Terrific podcast that gets right to the gist of what we love about original H5O, understanding that it's about the aesthetics as much as the talent behind and in front of the cameras. Host is super well-informed about the TV culture of the era and has a pleasant voice/delivery. If you happen to be rewatching the series you can't go wrong with this pod as a companion.
