A bit about our guest:After 13 years teaching middle school (love that age!) and doing business development part-time, I jumped into business full time.
In 2006 the hubs and I bought an 21-room historic boutique hotel, built in 1907.
No furniture, no clientele, (last time it was open for guests was in the 1940’s), AND it was located in a town population 600 (no, I didn’t miss a zero!). Yes, Mayberry. To say that we were ‘not on the map’ was 100% accurate.
Adding to the challenge, the hotel was sitting on acre of tired grounds in desperate need of a landscaping update.
Oh, there were some Gone with the Wind drapes which my MacGyver level talented sister used to mock me up a dress. Yes, I wore it, pins and all, and made my dramatic entrance down the staircase to the lobby.
Some thought I was crazy for purchasing the hotel, others thought I was a genius with vision.
I needed to figure out how to get us ‘on the map’, attract clientele that was two hours away, hire, train, and inspire staff, and grow the business. Oh, do all this and not drive myself into the ground.
Thankfully because I had crap for a marketing budget I stumbled on a different way to grow. A better way.
Our clientele grew quickly, top priority was hiring and training a team that assist in our growth.
How did I do it? By transforming People into Partners. By finding the RIGHT people, supporting, and equipping them to consistenly give amazing Customer Experiences.
You can take advantage of the training used to increase employee retention, increase guest return visits, garner excellent on-line reviews, and put us on the map!

Pushing me to always do better!

Since meeting Melissa and learning of her podcasts I have been working to do more and be better in my business. I struggle with ADHD and all of the wonderful and frustrating effects it has. Melissa breaks things down into smaller, more manageable steps that my limited attention span can handle without overwhelming me. Listening to the podcasts is the motivation I need and I am grateful for her guidance.
