Bridging the Gap is a chance to bring people together to talk about hard things and discover bridges through the process. As we travel together in this pursuit of building bridges with fellow journeyers, concepts and systems, remember the principle of ‘bridging the gap’ is quite simple --- it’s moving from Point A to Point B, moving from where you are to where you want to be, or my favorite, putting on new lenses in which to see in a different way.

Bridging the Gap Between Expectations and Reality

Bridging the Gap Between Expectations and Reality

Today's podcast will address bridging the gap between our expectations and the reality of life. We've all had moments where we stand shell-shocked by the reality of our lives and wonder how in the world we ended up in our present state. Whether due to our own actions, uncontrollable circumstances, or the responses of others... life just doesn't follow a script and often is quite contrary to our expectations. What do we do when this happens? Join Dr. Brian Delbridge and myself as we explore how purpose, faith, forgiveness, thankfulness, and embracing the present can assist in bridging the gap between expectations and reality.

Dr. Brian Delbridge created LAF Ministries, in his own words, to "assist pastors in developing the practical tools needed for successful ministry and assist the Church to be the Church, by developing a lifestyle of Love, Acceptance, and Forgiveness." Browse through his website (www.lafministries.net) and purchase his book "Won't Someone Please Help Me? (A Practical Guide to Ministry)" on Amazon.

Bridging the Gap Between Generations - Part 2

Part Two of this topic picks back up with the conversation Dr. Brian Delbridge, Parks Jones, Hallie Jones and your host Shagae Jones.

Each generation approaches life with their own perspective of the world based upon their experiences, biases, values, strengths and weaknesses, and cultural variations. Join me (Gen X) as I host special guests Dr. Brian Delbridge (Baby Boomer), Parks Jones (Millennial), and Hallie Jones (Gen Z) to better understand each generation. We discuss the differences and similarities between the generations when it comes to social media, work ethic, core values, delayed gratification, and mental health to name a few. Through the process, we bridge the gap between the generations.

Can there also be a promo after the synopsis stating the following:

Parks Jones --- Author of Half a Story and Lovely Things (These poetry books can be found on Amazon)

    Introduction - Bridging the Gap

    Introduction - Bridging the Gap

Bridging the Gap is a chance to bring people together to talk about hard things and discover bridges through the process. As we travel together in this pursuit of building bridges with fellow journeyers, concepts and systems, remember the principle of ‘bridging the gap’ is quite simple --- it’s moving from Point A to Point B, moving from where you are to where you want to be, or my favorite, putting on new lenses in which to see in a different way.

We live in a culture that seeks to divide and emphasize the differences between us. Deep within, don’t we truly have an innate desire to relate not debate! To be understood not to be lectured. To have a voice rather than to be shamed or feared into silence. I’d like to suggest that we are much more alike than we might think; we have commonalities galore. Where we do see differences and disagreements, could we make a 180 and see opportunities for growth, learning and healing.
