The Truth About Grief with Guest Tasha Ives

It's an uncomfortable topic, but at some point you will be in a season of grief. Perhaps you are in that season now, or you are just coming out of it, but learning how to manage grief well is something we all need to do.  I don't know anyone better to share on this topic than my dear friend, Tasha Ives. Tasha has experienced deep grief multiple times throughout her life and sought to find a biblical perspective on how to work through it. She shares those thoughts with us on the podcast today, as well as in her new book, So Far: A Journey Through Grief and Beyond.  Key Takeaways: No matter your depth of grief, it is valid in your life because it's your reality. Sometimes when you are dealing with grief, you become what people want you to be and end up stuffing your own emotions deep down without dealing with them. Avoidance is a natural reaction to grief. Grief ignored leads to bigger issues and it grows into other places of your life where it didn't originate. Be discerning about who you share the details of your grief with and know that tragedy will change your circle of people which can lead to additional grief. Learn to be comfortable being uncomfortable sitting with those who are in grief. Take your pain and turn it into purpose and see where God is working.   Connect with Megan: Build Your Brave Conference Recordings Join the We Are Team Brave Facebook Page Follow Megan on Instagram   Connect with Tasha: Follow Tasha on Instagram Check out Tasha's book, So Far:  A Journey Through Grief and Beyond

Get Your Hopes Up with Guest Alison Wallwork

Have you ever found yourself afraid to get your hopes up? You want to feel excitement and believe something good is coming for you, but fear creeps in and robs you of hope. Today we are going to address the need to get your hopes up! Joining me in the conversation is my dear friend, Alison Wallwork. Alison is a wife, mom, author, speaker, and my personal pastor. She and her husband have been doing ministry for over 20 years, and together they have 4 boys aged 11-17. Alison enjoys speaking at Women’s Ministry events, conferences, retreats, church services, seminars, or other special functions. She speaks with passion, transparency, conviction, and a love for the Word of God as she inspires and encourages others to seek God in their everyday lives. Key Takeaways: Together we examine why we are so afraid to get our hopes up. The fear of disappointment and failure are often the culprit. Why we grasp at control – thinking we can manipulate the outcome when we truly aren't in control at all. The importance of not passing our wounds on to our children. We can project our fear of getting our hopes up onto our kids and rob them of joy. The importance of anchoring ourselves in God. When our hope is anchored in the right source we don't have to worry about trusting the outcome to fulfill our hope. Allowing ourselves to feel fear, but not allowing it to be the loudest voice in our lives!   Let's Connect!
