Building In Public #1: First 90 Days After Hiring a Chief Operating Officer

Path for Growth with Alex Judd

How do you scale a business?

  • Identify and own your skillset and strengths
  • Hire people who are so passionate about your purpose and vision that they're excited to do the things you're currently procrastinating.

That's exactly what we did at Path For Growth when we hired our COO Zack Estes. He just completed his first 90 days as our COO! We are all so PUMPED about the energy, skillset, conviction, and strength that he is bringing to the team.

Zack previously worked as a Process Engineer at a Manufacturing Plant, an Operations Improvement Engineer at Vanderbilt Medical Center, and the Media Operations Engineer at EntreLeadership. He has a deep-seated passion for increasing organizational efficiency without sacrificing humanity.

Most important, Zack and his wife Taylor live in alignment with Path for Growth values and are the type of people that we love working with. Their excitement to be a part of this mission at the early stages is going to be a blessing to all of us.

Today Zack and Alex recap his first 90 days and talk about the three types of meetings that they have found to be essential for an owner and COO.

  1.  Daily check-ins that encourage you to be honest and share what you're doing.
  2. Weekly status updates and strategic problem-solving.
  3. Weekly feedback with each other in an environment of safety and trust.

Our whole team is rooting for you. We want to see you win!

Remember, my strength is not for me; your strength is not for you; our strength is for service.
