In this episode of Y's Guys, we looked back on BYU’s season so far and recapped the highlights leading up to their showdown against Arizona State. With BYU ranked No. 14 and Arizona State No. 23, the stakes were high as the Cougars aimed for a spot in the Big 12 Championship. The hosts broke down Blaine Fowler’s keys to victory, which included stopping ASU’s star players, minimizing turnovers, and maintaining red zone efficiency.

Special guests added depth to the show. Scott Phillips, one of the unsung heroes of BYU’s legendary 1980 Miracle Bowl, shared stories from his playing days and insights on BYU’s current team. Duane Oakes, a BYU Alumni Global Board Member, discussed alumni festivities in Tempe, including a massive tailgate and service project. BYU closer Stone Cushing also joined the conversation to talk about BYU baseball’s offseason and the mindset required to deliver under pressure.

The show also reviewed BYU’s tough loss to Kansas and highlighted the incredible support from Cougar Nation at LaVell Edwards Stadium. Other updates included strong performances from BYU Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Volleyball, and Cross Country teams, along with news about BYU’s new media rights deal, which will expand Big 12 coverage to TNT and TBS starting next fall.
