A weekly podcast on comics, film, television and collectibles, all fueled by the magic of frappacinos.
Caffeinated Comics – Loki
Disney Plus wraps up their latest series with a tease for everything? Was that Immortus? With a season 2 in the wings, will we not see Loki in Thor: Love and Thunder? Plus, Stveen is mad at Marvel omnibus spines and would you pay $400 for a Galactus Marvel Legend figure? [EP236]
Caffeinated Comics – Black Widow
Jon and Steven watched the new MCU movie in very different ways. They discuss the year delay of the film, Steven’s anticipation of Taskmaster and the blurring of theatrical releases and Disney Plus streaming series. Plus, casting parent actors the same age as their children. [EP235]
Caffeinated Comics – Playstation 5
After 8 months of playing website slots, Jon finally got a Playstation 5 and in turn so did Steven. They discuss the chip shortage that is hurting distribution, what it means for other industries and how Trump is still to blame for bad things. Plus, when Paul Rudd was on “Friends”, the single issue spoiler of “Thunderbolts”, and how to keep Captain America in the 4th of July. [EP234]
Caffeinated Comics – Brand New Brand New Day
“Amazing Spider-Man” is going back to a 3 times a month schedule with a rotating cast of writers. It worked in 2008 so what’s different now? Clones? Again? Plus, Hickman continues to astonish on “X-Men”, Dan Slott saves everybody’s bad stories except for Bendis, and why the new Shang-Chi trailer doubled down on MCU content. [EP233]
Caffeinated Comics – Indiana Jones 40th Anniversary
We’re in person for the first time since March 2021! As Jon struggles to run three microphones at once, he discusses the anniversary of his favorite movie with Elliott Serrano and Steven Brown. They talk the first time they each saw “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, the delicate balance of every genre in the picture, the inherent flaws in each of the sequels, and their hopes for the fifth film James Mangold is currently shooting.[EP232]
Caffeinated Comics – Joseph C Gioconda
First he was a lawyer. Then he owned a soda company. Now he’s a published author. Jon talks to high school friend Joe Gioconda about the twists and turns his career has taken over the years and what led him to tell the true story of a 15th century serial killer sanctioned by the church. Plus, how he got the rights of “Slice” from Pepsi and what he’s doing with the brand now. [EP231]
Fun Channel thank you !
Great Show , Great channel
One of my favorite podcasts! I listen every week. Just wish I could download it in .mp3 instead of .wma through iTunes. Keep up the great work!
I started listening to the show once I saw an ad for it in Chimera's Comics, and I've been an avid listener ever since I saw it back in 2013. This around the time I was getting into comics, and it's been great hearing the guys who have been into that culture for years give recommendations, which was useful in becoming as fluent in comic book culture as I am today. I love that they don't stick to just comic books, and that the show naturally ends up on topics like video games or classic movies, (2 topics I also love) making the podcast seem much more naturally flowing than other, more segmented shows. It all comes together to make a consistently great show that I try to listen to as soon as possible each week. (Also I was promised a shoutout if I wrote this review, and I got a shoutout on the most recent episode, so hopefully this creates enough demand for me to be a guest (just kidding!))
