On Monday, October 12th 2020 Krys woke up to a flood of emails and calls from the UK. She found out a photograph she took back in 2017 (that she uploaded to a free stock photography website) was used in a Retrain Government campaign in the UK. To say that she was shocked is an understatement.
Krys Alex is a photographer based in Atlanta, Georgia raised in Kingston, Jamaica. Her work uses tools of photojournalism, portraiture and filmmaking to tell stories. Self-taught with a sincere passion for all things photographic her work makes little distinction between commissioned and personal stories, using both as an opportunity to capture raw emotion. In this episode, Kersten and Nick chat to Krys about her photographic work, the impact of the Rethink Reskill Reboot campaign and what it’s like to witness the events of 2020 in Atlanta through the lens. -

Sean’s background is in graphic design and communication which is all too evident in his unique style of cinematic headshot photography and portraiture. His photography combines fine art with photorealism, striking black and whites as well as muted colour imagery.
Sean gives an insight into his process, shooting actors in Stockholm, creating a connection with the subject and his recent switch from Nikon to Panasonic. He gives valuable advice on how to develop as an artist, deal with criticism and build consistency in your photography work.

Love this podcast
Nick and Kersten are entertaining and witty on topics surrounding everyday life and very informative on photography related matters. Never a dull moment listening to these two, absolutely love the show.
